    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

Every one of Barnes, Lyles, and Vezenkov will be significantly better players than Chomche next season. This kid is one day old enough to qualify for this draft class and has been playing against the equivalent of US HS competition. In time he could possibly be a good defender who can knock...

Yes and no. That was a different age for the NBA draft. Fans generally knew NCAA players if they knew any of the prospects There was little info on Peja, or on Kobe Bryant for that matter, that was out there for casual fans to read. On the other hand John Wallace was coming off an NCAA...

I can't criticize too much. Eons ago I was that same way. Despite never being a huge college football watcher I'd read up on the draft, look at consensus mocks and then be all upset that the Niners went a different direction than I thought they should. I feel like I have a pretty strong...

This is the one of the best possible endorsements of Pearsall. Stroud is such a football savant. I'm a huge fan of that kid. The Texans got a monster quarterback with an amazing combination of tools, smarts, and feel. He knows ball and he knows players. I haven't followed college football or...

I LOVE Devin Carter. The Kings really need a big wing/forward much more than another guard, but his talent is hard to ignore. He wouldn't come anywhere near replacing Monk as a scorer & playmaker off the bench, but he defends and rebounds bigger than his size and provides a bit of everything...

Unless the Kings at some point have a Spurs-like run of success, they'll always need to take risks to potentially become a contender. They are a small market team in a state with a high tax rate. We're in the opposite position of Miami, which is a significantly bigger market, a more desirous...

Looking forward to your mock Baja! And I'm not going to push back too much on Chomche - I really like the kid, and I think in time he could possibly be a great fit next to Sabonis. He gives me some young Serge Ibaka vibes in terms of his possible upside. But I will say that I think you're...

    FIRE MIKE BROWN

Is it time to cue the "we should've hired Mark Jackson over Brown in the first place" takes? If the reports are to be believed, he was the other major name under consideration by the Kings/Vivek.

    FIRE MIKE BROWN

I haven't rechecked this whole thread, but the only actual replacement suggestion was that the Kings should have elevated Jordi, but the Nets hired him away. I wish him the best of luck in Brooklyn and I think he'll be a good coach, but how logical is it that a guy that was already part of...

“RUN IT BACK!” / Monte needs to fix this.

I don't see the Cavs trading Mitchell this off-season. He's under contract for next year with a player option for the following season and I think they'll try to convince him to stay. If they can't, I think he gets moved before the trade deadline next season.

    Potential Free agent/trade/sign tracker

I'd do either deal in a heartbeat. I don't know if the Magic or the Wizards would. While the results haven't been good, Orlando just started Isaac in their two playoff games against the Cavs. Avdija is more of a mystery. The current Wizards front office/coaching staff have no ties to him...

    FIRE MIKE BROWN

Yes and no. Sure, the team missed the playoffs but they had a second consecutive winning season after 16 years of losing and despite some bad stretches/stumbles, they won 46 games, which is just two less than last year when they were the #3 seed. Extending Brown (which I'm okay with but not...

    KING IN ARABIC

I hope not either. Honestly, if it's the difference between keeping or losing him, I'd absolutely offer him a starting role. As it stands he played more mpg than Huerter anyway. It definitely means the bench needs upgrading, but that's doable.

Got it. Makes perfect sense from that standpoint.

I definitely understand the contract complications with Monk. They are what they are. And if he takes a bigger money deal to play elsewhere then the Kings will have lost a core piece. That's all I'm saying.

That's my understanding. That he's keeping all his options open and has received several offers from college teams.

To me Malik is part of the Core of this team from the standpoint that I don't think the Kings have the same level of success the past two seasons without him, and losing him will likely cause the Kings to take a significant step backwards unless they pick up a similarly impactful player. The...

AFAIK, Giannis grew 2 inches, from 6'9" to 6'11". Physically, sure Chomche is ahead of Giannis at around the same age (Giannis was slightly younger going into the draft), but I'm talking about skill development. And even if we want to talk about builds, Giannis is a complete outlier. Most...

As much as I'm intrigued by Chomche, barring him just dominating the pre-draft process, I think it would be malpractice for McNair to take him at 13. He's intriguing in a lot of ways, but he's further away as a prospect than Giannis was coming out, and without the top end upside. I think in 3...
