Which is the home team?
I can't tell because they're both wearing road uniforms.

In the playoffs
I like it. I hate the white uniforms anyway. Did you know the only reason they have white uniforms is because back in the very old days of black and white TV, it was hard to differentiate between the teams? Since that's no longer a problem it doesn't matter as much. :)

Bush league. It's like little league that if both teams wore similar shades than one would put on some crappy orange over shirt.

Home white. Road color. Tradition. No matter the origins.

These aren't even their main roadies...which tells me it's a cash crab to get people to buy tacky alternates while making it look like a preseason game at the Thomas and Mack center. Like the teams that don't expect to advance want to pimp out their special editions while they got face time.

Like I said.. atleast the road team hasn't worn home white yet but I hope this is just to add some flare to the typically boring first round and we'll start taking this seriously by round 2

Dude, it's not a big deal

Playoff basketball is all about ISO in the second half, even for teams like the spurs. Watching IT and Jimmy also Lebron and Kyrie basically play simple pick and roll attack the hoop all second half tells me that if you have the better ISO player you have a real good shot at winning the game, all plays are scouted and sniffed out, all ball movement is dead do to switches.

Nice straw man.
I'm just saying I think it's tacky. You disagree and gave a reason why you think it's neat..I still think it's tacky and explained why but we're not having a debate. Certainly not building "straw mans" lol. We're talking about preferences. The Kings gold standard at home in the playoffs example was just how I view it that might make sense to some who may not notice it negatively otherwise.

If it's no big deal you don't have to bother with my posts on it..like I said, it's a pet peeve of mine and have actively rooted against every team wearing road alternates at home in the playoffs. I also have tried to be humorous in such posts and don't take it as seriously as you guys think..but yes, I do notice it right away and don't like it. I also have plenty of posts concerning the games as well..even the ones cheapened by November uniform wear.

Tradition blows. "That's the way we've always done it" is not a good enough reason to do something.
"That's the way they've always done it " isn't necessarily a good enough reason to do something different, is it?

Change for the sake of change can often be silly.

How does tradition become tradition? From being tried and true in most cases. Change is necessary only when certain tradition becomes incompatible. There will always be tradition though. Not seeing that here and they aren't really making a good case for bucking tradition in this case.

Maybe the Rockets and Thunder are re-branding or something..and I'll understand a few months down the road. They are both certainly due for that.

Jazz and Clippers get it. Their games have had the most intensity as well. Probably unrelated though.

I don't really know how important it is that the Clippers don't have Griffin. Dude is such a flake in the 4th quarter it boggles my mind how there has never been a media narrative installed about his uselessness in crunch time. Certainly not a Gobert level loss...as in, I think the Clippers have as good a chance of winning as i did before Griffin stubbed his toe.

I'm not mocking his injury though. If it's anything like the toe bruise I got hiking in desolation wilderness. He isn't playing his usual 3 quarters of basketball

"Change for the sake of change" is an assertion that one cannot corroborate, and is likely informed by one's bias in favor of keeping things at the status quo. And, anyway, if the reason for doing something in a particular way is no longer required or valid, then ceasing to continue doing it that way does not rise to any reasonable definition of "for change's sake."

"Tried and true" is a crutch, and "that's the way we've always done it" is most often used to justify doing something stupid. Like wearing white jerseys at "home."

I made my post in response to the "tradition blows" so basically let's change it because tradition blows should understandably bring on a "do you mean change for the sake of change?" response. While your last couple sentences can be true it's just as often true the other way around. Personally, I don't think the discussion needs to become a philosophical debate on the validity of home vs away color schemes since it can easily head into territory that's not as lighthearted as my intention with my rants on the unis.

i don't like it and won't. Again, pet peeve. I was half making lighthearted "you know what grinds my gears?" posts. Multiple times because I think the Rockets and Thunder have done it every game. My response to VF and the other guy were meant to be funny..I thought the gold standard Kings alternate reference would be a giveaway but then I was called out for building a straw man...and if something grinds my gears as much as home teams wearing their least identifiable road rags as home uniforms on the biggest stage..its being told I'm taking something too seriously by others who are taking it too seriously.

I have the most content about the games in this thread as well so maybe let me rant about the uniforms. Like I said, the ultimate offense hasn't been committed yet...which is home white on the road in the playoffs.

All I was pointing out was that this particular "tradition" was based on nothing more than making the game easier to follow on TV back in the days when color was difficult to identify on black and white screen.

But hey, it's not worth arguing about. It's gonna be a long TDOS. Plenty of time to do that later in the summer. :p

In all honesty, I find the Clippers ALMOST watchable without Griffin on the court. And I agree. I don 't think his absence is going to be the bellwether in determining the eventual winner.

I still hate them. I will also point out the removing a major player from a team that almost seems to pride itself on not quite being good enough, is of course of little consequence. The only question with Clips is which round they fail to measure up in. I am guessing this year the answer is round one.

I'm much more annoyed by the fact that Thunder/Rockets is not fun basketball, than I am by what color jerseys they're wearing. But, maybe that's just me.

Because it wasn't 3pm where the game was being played?

That said, I would like to know which jackass was in charge of managing the playoff schedule, such that they ended up with one day of playoff games being all the western conference teams, and the next day, both of the playoff games being eastern conference teams? That's really the reason why ATL/WAS started at 18:00: because the alternative would have been to start CHI/BOS at 21:45 ET, which would have been even more ridiculous.
