well, since the outcome of wins and future team chemistry will determine who was right or who was wrong, that's the only reason I plan on at least keeping tabs on the team.........
The outcomes of the games isn't going to tell you that; if the "energy" and the "spirit" changes, and the team is still sorry (or actually gets worse, as I expect), then what will that tell you?

Just playing the devil's advocate here as I truly don't know who's right and I won't know until this plays out...But playing the advocate, what about Grant's quote, "nobody wanted cousins or were willing to give up much to get him, what does that tell you?" or his other indirect quote of how "most players couldn't stand to play with him" and now he received messages from ex-players saying that this trade was a good move?".............. I honestly don't know as I've read good arguments both against the trade and good arguments for the trade........ Since I'm not a fly on the wall and I don't see what goes on in the clubhouse or what's said on the court, it's hard for me to know one way or the other.
Grant Napear lies. It's what he does. He makes comments unsupported by facts and if you dare to question him, he yells. Do not forget what he said about Bobby Jackson, Chris Webber, and others. He also touted the honesty and integrity of the Maloofs while they were actually in Virginia Beach trying to sneak the Kings out of town.

Believe anything he says at your own risk. I'd sooner believe George Karl. He was a jerk, but he was jerk to your face.

Not necessarily. The guys left on the team are gonna play their hearts out, as evidenced by what both Anthony Tolliver and Garrett Temple have tweeted out. IN addition, the new guy is gonna want to show he's worth something. That doesn't mean the trade was a good thing. As so many have said so often, the sample size (in this case 25 games) isn't enough to prove much of anything.
well the argument is that the recent game that Cousins missed this year, the ball moved very well and the team just appeared different.....and I know they won that game.....I think 25 games is a good sample size. Heck, it's almost one third of a whole season......Again, it has to be really noticeable for me, not subtle..... The argument being that it wasn't working when Cousins was here, so let's see if it works when he's not......It either does or it doesn't, no middle ground.....

I know what you're saying - as devil's advocate - but ONE GAME is a damn small sample to hang your hopes on. And that, to the best of my knowledge, is the ONLY game so far where the team w/o Cousins looked even remotely like a team capable of competing every night in the NBA.

Yea,I'm with you.....I do remember though several posters on this forum stating that Cousins needed to be traded multiple times and entire threads devoted to as to why Cousins should be traded....If it's not this year, then we should definitely know within the next couple of years whether or not the trade was a good idea or not............

I'll end by saying that you could very well end up being right though. I mean, getting rid of Isaiah Thomas was such a stupid, stupid, stupid idea and I think he's been in the all-star game twice since we've traded him.....

well the argument is that the recent game that Cousins missed this year, the ball played very well and the team just appeared different.....and I know they won that game.....
And it's a ridiculous point (I won't even dignify by referring to it as an "argument"). The Kings record w/o Cousins the past 7 seasons is atrocious. Excluding this season when the bench finally started to show some life, the plus-minus during stretches when he wasn't on the floor was an embarrassment. You know why that is? Because the team hasn't had any talent other than him.

Now people want to suddenly point to one freaking game the Kings won against Boston as some type of validation that they can be better w/o him? Go back 1, 2, 3 seasons ago and you'll find a game they won w/o him too yet the team still sucked! What's next? The Cavs are better w/o LeBron because they manage to win from time to time when he doesn't play?

The argument being that it wasn't working when Cousins was here, so let's see if it works when he's not......It either does or it doesn't, no middle ground.....
This is an even worse correlation. Do you know how many W's the Kings had the 4 seasons before Boogie was drafted? 33, 38, 17, 25.

They weren't winning well before he got here. As stated numerous times in various threads now, they've continued losing with him because they've added no impact talent the past 6 drafts and haven't fared any better in free agency. The only gems they found were Hassan Whiteside, who they couldn't manage to develop themselves, and Isaiah Thomas who they also traded for nothing in return but a useless trade exception.

The reason it "isn't working" is because of the instability, incompetence, and lack of qualified people in ownership and the front office over an extended period of time. Correlating the losing to Cousins simply because he got mixed up in it all is missing the mark completely.

In short. the Kings aren't addressing the real problem. Vivek doesn't want to admit that he doesn't have a clue how to run an NBA team nor is he seemingly aware that Vlade Divac is totally and completely unqualified for the job that he handed to him. As bad as the previous GM was, he never would have willingly made a trade like this one.

Back -kinda - to the topic at hand.

Anybody else waiting with baited breath to see what Napear has to say on his show today, with the walkout on the noon show? KHTK is about to implode.

What happened at noon?

Edit: Never mind, caught the KHTK thread.

Cz goes, bash Napear. What if there was some merit to his opinions n Cuz. I may not have agreed with him but his opinion was shared by many - and if they weren't I would expect him and any other commentator to speak their mind. Unless, of course, you prefer a total "yes" man.

I've been bashing Grant Napear for years, going back to his campaign against spending the money to get the Kings to resign Chris Webber. He's played a dual role for way too long, as Kings commentator and radio talk show host. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, he's the ultimate "yes" man.

At this point, other than the "watching a train wreck" syndrome, I cannot imagine why anyone would ever tune in to Grant's show again. Is Doug there? I cannot imagine how awkward this all is for him.

I wanted to hear if he brought up the censorship bit (he did). I exited out of the stream already. I like Doug... but he does not assert his opinion enough. Almost as if he's scared of repercussions.

Reading some tweets from people who listened to Grant address the censorship issue he said that there is no censorship and that he is by far the most critical person covering the team.

Doug doesn't like conflict. He abhors it. I don't think it's the repercussions he fears as much as the open conflict.

I've been out of the looop today.

What was said on the afternoon show about censorship and what did boogie say that annoys grant so much?
Damien was suspended; Ken and Jason walked off the show. Boogie said he has no desire to talk to Vlade, who he thinks dealt with him dishonestly.
