Arena construction web cams

They are starting to build it:

I can see my exact seats in this pic - 7 rows up from where that blue cart is at mid-court, in the middle of the row. I can tell because of the number of seats in each row - the seats in place now start with row FF on the sidelines. I just can't wait to sit in em for real! I may even select the Maccabi game in my STH partner draft before the regular season games are out - just so I can be first to sit in the seat for a basketball game.

Ha, I just discovered these this morning too.

Bit alarming actually how much work still needs to be done. Opening day is about 90 days off. People are going to arrive for it and there's still going to be the smell of glue in the air and electric drills whining in the distance.

Several weeks ago we asked when we can get in to explore how an old fogie STH can park, get in, and get to his seat without too many steps and too many unrailed stairs. Our Kings agent said they are panning a weekend at the end f September for STH open house for that purpose. A further constriction on their construction time.

I hope they will help a non STH.

I hope they have the infra-structure all complete. I have been watching the work inside and it has seemed very slow. I suppose they have a Samsung crew for the scoreboard. Seems very slow. Sir Paul may have to sit on a partially finished scoreboard to sing.

Am I the only one who wonders if the Arena is a bit behind schedule? Less than 3months away and they're not entirely finished yet... makes me nervous.

Thinking Jed York and grass...

Getting it done in time for the regular season will be no problem but if they don't hurry, I could see Paul McCartney being pushed back as well as one of the pre season games. I don't think it will be a problem though. When the Warriors renovated Oracle Arena back in '97, they actually had more work to do with only a month to go before opening night than the Kings do now with still over 2 months until McCartney's concert. That's when they started working around the clock and somehow got it done. If worse comes to worse, I could see them start working around the clock here as well.

I think they'll make the deadline, albeit the first season in G1C will be akin to "beta testing": a new product that isn't ready for prime time, as a way to work out the kinks and finish the final coat. Lots of construction to be finished that likely won't until the end of the season, such as the hotel tower, remodeled mall (still a cliff where Mrs. Fields used to be), 700K revitalization and general parking/traffic flow. 2017-18 should see a lot of kinks worked out and a better pre-grame/post-game experience (either if you're leaving or staying).

Side note: those two support beams in the interior cam continue to bother me. It really looks like those will block views from most of the upper decks - you don't see this low of a dip in other new arenas. Did they cheap out on construction, or is it just the camera angle?

If you're talking about the picture that Glenn posted, look again. It's taken from an extremely high angle up in the rafters. Those support beams will cause no trouble at all for the view from the upper deck.

It looks like they've taken interior cam off the website. I wonder if this means they'll be completing the screens soon? Only ~60 days left.. and it seems like a lot still needs to be done!

I am guessing this was removed on the request of Samsung who is constructing the screen. They may want a few things kept secret. But then, what do I know?
