The Wrestling Thread~

So sad to hear.
I stopped watching wrestling about 10 years ago so I didn't really know about the huge falling out Chyna had with HHH and the WWF...
It's really sad seeing how so many mental health and substance abuse problems ex-wrestling super stars have afterwords, happens way too often imo. Sad news.

Saw Styles/Jericho round 2 live, AJ really is the coolest dude. He stayed like 20 mins after to pose for pictures with fans and even told the over eager security to leave the fans alone til everyone got theirs.

I think we're gonna go to NXT in a couple weeks.

^Interesting. Kiddo is wanting to go to another show soon but nothing on the Pac NW was in the calendar. Maybe a Sac show would be near a Portland and Seattle tour. Would be nice if in October.

Pretty torn on the brand split. The last one was what got me to quit watching for a few years - but there is so much good talent right now being held down I think it's a good thing? Then again good talent suffers poor booking, and vice versa. We joked about Reigns but the prob isn't that he sucks, it was the monster face type booking he got. Maybe the suspension will knock him down a few pegs but I'd rather see Seth than Dean with the strap right now. Love Ambrose but the whole lunatic thing is really inhibiting his moveset and his matches outside of the asylum match aren't really doing much for me. It'd be cool if one of the brands in the split took a pg-13+ swing, but I doubt that would happen.

They're gonna screw it up but last night was basically a smark's wet dream. After this year's wrestlemania I'm kinda blown away they have done so much right in the months to follow, though I do wonder if RR had stayed clean what would have happened.

They are definitely building Smackdown as the 'rasslin show and Raw as the "entertainment" show.

They say that but Zayn and Owens put on the match of the night and quite possible MOTY, plus Raw has Cesaro and they are going to put the cruiserweights there. I'm not really doubting that with 2 hours SD won't dramatically cut down the promos/filler time but Raw has a ton of upper midcard wrestling talent that you can only hope rises to the top as well.

That SZ/KO match tho... the build to the finish and the I love you callback, I really do hope they both shoot straight up from here.

Will be interesting to see if Smackdown can top it.

Glad to see Sasha get the strap. I have this weird feeling that if they keep burying Reigns he'll actually get over.

I should have said that I reserve the right to change my mind after the 1st shows, lol. I do still think that smackdown will have the better technical wrestling, if you don't count the cruiserweights on Raw.

By the way, has anyone watched the cruiserweight classic on the WWE network

Kevin Steen, WWE Champion. Try saying that three years ago, and see how hard you get laughed at.
And he's now officially the longest reigning WWE Universal Champion in recorded history*

*Technically this honor still belongs to vacant, but safely assuming he retains the title until the next episode of Raw he will own this honor as well.
