Basketball is a young enough sport that it has barely started to lose its Top 20 all time pantheon type guys. Possibly only Wilt before this, and now Moses as well. Both died too young. RIP Mo.

Agreed. Arguably NBA top 5 all time center but easily on top 10 list. I think Pete Maravich dying age 40 (1988) along with deceased Wilt Chamberlain are only other NBA top 50 all time players to have now passed - but maybe couple of others as well. Original 1996 list would seem to need update - maybe on 20th anniversary next year.

At the risk of sounding morbid, I was legit surprised to learn that Hayes, Lucas, Pettit, Schayes and Sharman are all still alive.

Maybe I have forgotten the top 50 list...but I'm a little surprised Parish and Worthy are on it. Both were fantastic, clutch players....just a little surprised
