Ongoing saga of Luc Mbah a Moute (merged)

I think he might be trying to get us to honor the contract because he can't secure another.

And given my own preferences I'm not sure I'd be upset if we "lost" this grievance and had to keep him.
Maybe Luc and the Kings should agree to get an evaluation from a neutral doctor on Luc's shoulder and tell him that if the neutral doctor passes him, they will honor his contract.

Kings have every right to void a contract if Luc failed his physical. My guess is that Kings are trying to renegotiate a lower contract with Luc and he lost some money because of the failed physical. But at the same time, it doesn't look like any other team is banging at his door.

From the reports it sounded like he was getting a minimum deal. I'm not sure if it was more than one year, but other than that, they can't really negotiate him down.

maybe make it non or only partially guaranteed depending on availability? or does the CBA mandate that vet min deals be guaranteed

It might be a question regarding the second year of the contract (I don't remember there being a second year); I cannot imagine a vet can be non or partially guaranteed on anything past like a 10-day contract. Wonder what the issue is; perhaps, with the failed physical, Vlade wants to move away from Luc entirely.
