I'm also fascinated by the notion that there is a substantial percentage of people watching this series in Milwaukee and Chicago, who were not alive the last time that the Bulls and Bucks met in the playoffs.

my point was that, before malone's ouster, it was a growing expectation for the kings to get over the hump and close out games effectively. after he was fired, the kings would go on to lose games of all stripes, with fourth quarter leads and without, because they had nothing to play for...
Meant to reply to this earlier, but forgot: I understand what your point was. My point was that that fact doesn't invalidate the comparison.

I have to be fair to the Celtics, and give them this much credit: they don't have anybody in their playoff rotation that I like, and some of them, I downright loathe. The only likeable player on Boston, AFAIC, is a guy that Brad Stevens absolutely refuses to play. But, they are very well coached, they play hard, and they don't quit. Unlike the Pelicans, they didn't lay down, with their season on the line; they went out with no bullets left in the chamber.

Now, go fishing. Unlike the Pelicans, I won't miss you.

So, the Cavaliers are suddenly injured, the Hawks and the Bulls appear to have become choking dogs... seems like nobody wants the eastern conference.

the hawks have looked nowhere near dominant at any point in their series against the nets. against the effing nets!! a team that encapsulates overpriced mediocrity!! atlanta better hit their groove at some point; can't be sleep walking through the playoffs...

This year could be coup de grace as the commish has said receding of all 16 playoff teams (or whatever # if expanded) might be in order to avoid one too may EC v. WC dull matchups - going for more like almost guaranteed extreme madness NCAA Final Four. Well, maybe not quite that exciting but NBA should at least give it a go since nothing to lose except TV viewer bust year after year risk. I know it's suppose to even out over long haul but EC has been terrible for decades.

Ugh. God no. Why do I feel like I'm the only person on earth who thinks that this is a terrible idea?

Re-seeding the playoffs would be AWESOME.

The Leastern Conference already gets so many advantages:
* They get to play each other most of the season (much easier opposition), and their individual stats are similarly puffed up.
* They only have to play each other in the playoffs until the last round.
* This extends the amount of time and exposure they get in the playoffs.
* They get absurdly more press coverage, due to the well-known "Eastern Conference Bias" of geographical/timezone convenience.

Tyson Chandler is done as a force in the NBA. Anyone who pays him over 6million is kicking themselves in the foot. Hopefully it won't be us..offer him the vet min..

Why offer him anything? We need to be setting our sights higher...

Tim Duncan is insane. 38 and playing out of his mind. Crazy for him to get up high enough to stuff Griffin.

Jordan's free throws were bad enough to lose the game alone (that 3rd quarter hacking marathon swung 7 points the Spurs way). Then Griffin choked away the game - for the second time this series.

Have to feel bad for Chris Paul and seriously wonder what the Clippers are gonna look like over the next 2-3 years. That front court is way too flawed for that team to go anywhere in the playoffs, despite how great CP3 is.

Thirty-nine.

And why on earth would I feel bad for Chris Paul?

Blake Griffin = choke artist.
To his credit he's been playing very well, far better than some on this board give him credit for. I've been very impressed by both Paul (who I've always thought was a very very good player) and Griffin. But they are the Clippers and I would very much love for them to lose, particularly because that would mean a Spurs victory.

It's a shame Cousins doesn't like Paul and vice versa. Michael Malone called Paul the most competitive player he's met and and a Paul/Cousins combo would be lethal.

Once in a generation/lifetime big man = Duncan and no on else currently in the NBA, how at 39 he's able to play both ends the way he does it just god like. Can't believe how well he has aged, dude is the terminator.

DJ for all the great things he does his IQ and free throw shooting has literally lost the Clippers games in every single lose. The Clippers badly need a athletic wing next year in the mold of Wilson Chandler or someone like that instead of Barnes who's another moron. The Clippers could literally have won this series with better free throw shooting and DJ not tipping the ball in for no reason.
