GOSSIP - About owners, FO, coaching staff, scouts and Kings things in general

Wednesday Mayor Kevin Johnson was one of three guests on the Larry Wilmore Nightly Show in New York. The subject was the drought in California. Kevin's first words were, yes we have a drought in our place - our team hasn't been in the playoffs for eight years. He did a good job and the show was enjoyable.

Haven't heard anything else, like whether Vlade has returned from Serbia yet. Please share any info you come across.

Wasn't aware that Vlade was in Serbia at the moment. If so, maybe he's over there scouting the european championships. Or whatever it's called.

I heard it like last weekend and the gist was he was tying up his move to Sacramento and would be back this week to meet with FO principals to get their ducks in order. Haven't heard anything since about any of the FO bunch. Newsy notes was what I was hoping for when I started this. Like "I saw a very tall Serbian shopping at Nordstroms the other day" kinda stuff.

To fight the cold and still allow you to enjoy a beer in a warm place they have things called pubs. No sand though.
Pubs? Never heard of 'em :p

Feel free to ship as much rain as you like to Northern California. ;)
I'm more than willing to swap the weather. Can we reach some sort of deal? I'm not guaranteeing that I won't look like a [handsome] tomato after a few days of 30+ degree heat. ;)

Really cooled down here (Palm Springs in the Mojave Desert) as well. Got down into mid-70's for a few days and we had to go get jackets. :p

Down south (SoCal) all we hear is are the Lakers keeping anybody on the roster? Yet they are going after some max contract types. Hope they get Rondo, would serve them right. Otherwise not a peep leading back to Sacramento.

No news. They, all of them, need to be taking advantage of this quiet Kings and league time to be huddling up, seeing if they can agree on needs, identifying priorities, getting their ducks in order and making themselves ready to take advantage of what pops up first. Tough job but get some good info and cause Vlade to bring people and their views together. Let me know if they look happy at lunch or whatever.

How do you feel about spending a week in the glorious rain of Ireland? Plenty of beer here but no sunshine! :p
I'm not much of a cold weather guy, but I would love to see Ireland. I'm into Fairy's, Gremlins, and a good cold beer. As a matter of fact, the more I drink of the beer, the more Fairy's and Gremlins I see....

Apparently Karl hired a lead assistant coach - associate head coach - Chad Iske from Karl's Denver days. Rumored to be dealing with another fro his past. Make another place setting at the table.

Im reserving my judgement for our W/L record. At this point we just need to worry about making the playoffs. Karl has enough history of playing the way he wants and making the playoffs.

Denver had no problem defending efficiently, when they had personell. At some point Mcgee flamed out, and they were forced to go with Faried at PF. That's when Nuggets' defense deteriorated.

At this point we just need to worry about the staff making some good decisions about who stays and who gos so we are ready for a good draft, good FA pick ups and good trades. After that hopefully we can play some better basketball.

I've heard that Pete starting dating George's ex right after prom, and that they may have been hooking up even before! And Katy told me that Vlade said that Chris and Vivek went out this one time with Chris Granger and Tanya from over in tickets, and they partied SOOOO hard that they couldn't drive home and all ended up crashing at Bratz's house. And who do you think was there with Mike? Well Jerry said that...

Love it! Now you've got the the jist. Keep it coming. I did hear or read somewhere that Karl has got a place near
STA and is shopping for a place in downtown or midtown to be closer to the new arena. He could try for a place next to Jerry Brown and wife but all those eaters downstairs can be pretty noisy.

This is an uncannily accurate Kings-gossip bit.
If this is original, I'd love to hear it read in a teenage girl's voice....
