Marcus Smart: Needs to change his attitude and improve his jump shot but hes pass first point guard and I think he can be anywhere from rondo or Jason Kidd if he improves.

Dante Exum: when I heard about him being the next Penny hardaway. I was excited about this oversize point guard so far I'm not impressed. He's had some decent games for a rookie but nothing impressive. At least he's starting over Burke.

Michael Kidd Gilchrist: mkg is improving his jump shot and the hornets are better with him on the floor. Even though he did look like a bust or disappointment he's proving his haters wrong. I'm a big fan of mkg and he's a great defender & athlete. Imagine if he develops a consistent jump shot.

Zach lavine: I'm hoping the best for this guy. He entertained fans again with his slam dunk performance.

Tyreke Evans: He was my favorite player a few years ago until he got traded to new Orleans. Hes improving again this season. Even though hes not averaging 20+ per game. He's improved as a player again. Evans numbers in all categories have improved this year. I wish his scoring will increase but he plays next to Davis, Gordon , and holiday.

How many games this year have had all four of those guys healthy? Is it double digits?

I think holiday is out. Currently Evans is the second option scorer but I'm hoping he can escalate his scoring game and even get to all star status by next season... Reke looked like a strong potential future superstar after what he showed in his rookie year.

I liked Tyreke plenty early on, but he he has failed to develop in most ways since his rookie season, with the exception of his court vision which has improved. Remember that he was getting Lebron/Jordan comparisons his rookie season. He is a good player, but I don't think he ever takes an all-star slot from someone in the west. Maybe if he gets moved to an EC team, he could make a bid for it.

Its too early on the rooks, with Exum being the one I still want to see develop. But MKG is no star, although he might become a long term Battier type. Reke is not going to be a superstar, but this season he is again demonstrating how metrics be damned, he's a major talent. If New Orleans continues to progress he might have a shot at an All Star game or two before its done.

Reke is what he is at this point and I don't think he will improve that much more than he all ready has. None can be superstars in my opinion but out of the five mentioned, I'd pick Marcus Smart with the biggest upside.

As someone who watches all the Pelicans games, I can confidently say that Tyreke has developed in many aspects of his game. The problem is that he's also lost some quickness and athleticism because of the injuries. Just watched a highlight video of his rookie and sophomore season the other day and I was surprised to see how light/quick he used to be compared to now. If New Orleans wins he may someday get some all star consideration, but it depends on who's on the roster with him at that time.

I also think he bulked up a lot to play the 3. He's a lot more tone now. I think his size has been a bit problematic with him finishing around the rim.. he misses a lot from point blank range now. He's not as quick anymore.

Hopefully NO can trade Jrue Holiday here and let Tyreke play PG.

Smart: Maybe. He plays in the East and he has the ability to be a good player. If his offense comes together then yes, but if not, then no.

Exum: No. He's been very very very raw this year, but he does flash a few nice things. His passiveness isn't going to get him anywhere.. especially AS a PG. Doesn't lead enough and his game isn't all there. He can develop into a very nice player, but I don't see AS.

MKG: No. 3 years in the NBA and he still can't shoot. Fun fact: Stauskas has more made 3's than MKG's attempted 3's.

Zach Lavine: Maybe. If he develops well, he will get into the AS because of his athleticism. I see him as a fan favorite despite him playing for Minnesota. He might not be deserving of an AS, but if he can put up 17pts 4asts, it'll be good enough for him to make AS.

Tyreke Evans: Probably not. Plays in the West and he's at the peak of his career right now, but I think he's going to down spiral down a bit. He was a much better overall offensive player his rookie year, than he is now. Right now, his IQ and shot creating have increased, but his explosiveness took a backseat.

Between Isaiah Thomas, Javale McGee, and Evan Turner, it will be a minor miracle if the Boston Celtics practice facility hasn't burnt down by the end of the season.

1. Stephon curry : leading the warriors to the best record in the NBA and putting a high average in points and assist. Also one of the best shooters in the league.

2. Lebron James: the cavs started off slow but lebron is putting his team back on the map..I forgot where Cleveland ranked but I know their top 3 in the east.

3. Russell Westbrook: he's making history with his consistent triple doubles. He's established himself as a one of the best scorers in the game. Westbrook is on beast mode.

4. Anthony Davis: its so nice to have power forward in the league with the same characteristics as a younger & prime Duncan and kg. A big man that plays both ends of the court.

5. James harden: I respect his leadership and how well he's utilizing himself for giving the rockets a winning record without Dwight Howard , who barley played this season..

I understand curry or harden will most likely win it , but this is your own opinion because not everybody thinks those two deserve it. You can make an argument Westbrook and lebron is well deserved to. I don't think Davis deserves it because of the pelicans team record but he is ranked top 5 on a lot of fans and analyst list.

The Pelicans are ****ing schizophrenic. The get blown out at home by a ****ty Boston team, with a chance to take over the eighth seed, and then come back from eighteen down to beat Memphis on the second night of a back-to-back.

For all of the talk about how strong the western conference (and, don't get it twisted, that talk is one hundred percent legit), most of that strength appears to be in the Southwest division: the only division in the entire league with no losing teams.

could it be the idiot smart that forced him to play the 3? sure he had to bulk up a bit to compete w/ the bigger opponents on a nightly basis. tyreke defending lebron, melo etc lmfao

The "idiot" Williams didn't do him any favors, either: Evans was New Orleans' opening night starting SF. And, if Gordon and Holiday hadn't gotten their annual injuries, he'd still be starting at SF.
