you want to talk about a steal...how about Millsap? I don't think anybody saw him being this productive for them, at least I didn't. It helps to have shooters all over the roster also.
Millsap was less of a surprise to me, though. it was instantly clear that he'd be a steal at this price and his production, as well as his style of play is right in line with what he was doing in Utah (except Bud's allowed him to take threes). Carroll, as a player, looks radically different. in Utah, he was your basic hustler, flying all over the court making plays, but undisciplined as hell and the last player you'd want to touch the ball on offense. he was mucking up the spacing with his lack of a jump shot and tried to compensate for it by going for offensive rebounds (hurting the Jazz` transition d). now? he knows where to be on offense, when to cut, when not to, where to move the ball, he has stopped going for offensive rebounds, instead opting to hustle back on d, and has even developed a credible jump shot. it really is night and day for that dude and, given his age, an incredible development.

And probably a good illustration of what separates the Ty Corbins (sticking him behind Marvin Williams on a middling at best team) of the world from the Coach Buds (starting him and playing him over thirty minutes a night).

NBA schedules are perplexing. What's the rationale behind the Bulls playing the Kings in Sacramento in November, but not playing the Warriors in Oakland until January?

Not really sure what Mason Plumlee has done to warrant being in the dunk contest this year. While he'S tall enough to dunk with ease, he doesn't exactly have the explosive athleticism of a Dwight Howard that is required of a big man attempting to win a slam dunk competition.

But hey, gotta keep those Brooklyn fans happy somehow, right?

It's not news, but even the flashy Warriors, with all their firepower, rely heavily on Bogut's defense. He's arguably their second most important player (behind Steph) when it comes to the playoffs.

And thanks to the Bulls for ending the Warriors' winning streak against Eastern teams

strange night in the league tonight...the Pistons put up only 69 points versus Philly! OKC is about to lose to the Knicks, albeit it's without Durant but you would think that his services would not be required. Goes to show you that the margin of error is very small in the Western Conference because at this rate OKC will not make the playoffs especially with Phoenix playing fairly well.

Bulls and lakers are going to overtime. lakers led by as many as fifteen. They led by nine, with eighty-nine seconds left in regulation.

I don't think even we've done that!

I've heard some people today, including Jason Ross, throwing shade at Jeff Teague, of all people, out of protest of Damian Lillard not being selected to the All-Star team. First of all, I don't know what Teague has to do with it; it's not like Lillard lost out to him. Second of all, you left coast types are sleeping on Jeff Teague; Teague can ball.

I'm going to laugh if the Hawks slap Portland around tonight, and Teague doubles Lillard up head-to-head.

I swear every time I watch the Clippers JJ Redick will start off hot, hitting first few shots of the 1st quarter, and then disappear for the rest of the game.

well Utah is full of young players that are active, athletic and care
They also have one of the better young big men tandems in the league in Gobert and Favors and the Warriors have old guy Andrew Bogut and Green, who while versatile isn't long enough to compete with a frontline sporting two near seven-footers (and Enes Kanter).

Okay, so it wasn't quite a "slap down," but eighteen straight for the Hawks, and Teague arguably outplayed Lillard.
both Teague and Schröder (his usual random hero ball moments notwithstanding) more than held their own, for sure. the Hawks did a really nice job of taking away Portland's outside shooting, which appears to be key in beating the Blazers. it's really amazing what the Hawks are doing. definitely worth keeping an eye on, especially with the schedule they have coming up (4 of the next 5 vs. NOP, WAS, GSW, and MEM ).
