I don't know whether to create a NCAA Men's Basketball thread or just post it in here...either way. Great doubleheader today Michigan St vs Duke...both teams going back and forth versus each other. Okafor is a big boy. I'm looking forward to watching Perry Ellis on Kansas, I'm a fan, I see Taj Gibson in him.

So I decided to start a thread on this, it's a long season and there will be plenty to discuss here for the college heads out there such as myself. Mod, please feel free to move my post I posted in the NBA Prospects thread to in here, thank you. Let the season begin! Go Arizona!

Kentucky taking Kansas to the woodshed. My god look at all that size Kentucky has...I don't know how you score inside on them consistently.

Juwan Howard's kid had a good game for Detroit U against Michigan. The fact Juwan Howard has a son balling it up in college makes me feel really old.

for anyone that watches College hoops extensively...I'd like to know what is the point of having a three day tournament to tip off the season?

this Villanova Michigan game is awesome. Michigan still has plenty of legit prospects considering Trey, Hardaway, Robinson and Stauskas are gone.

Preseason games hyped up to appear more than they really are.
I don't agree with "appear" - but yes, it is pre-conference games of consequence that allow teams with national ambitions to get experience ahead of the conference schedule.

To my eyes playing these tournaments is far better than playing against the nearest cupcake.

It also allows a team to schedule a few tough games in the early going while minimizing the risk, since if a presumed power bows out early odds are they play lesser opponents in the consolation round than they would if they scheduled 3 tough OOC opponents.

Plus they are surefire national tv coverage.

Michigan is trying with all their might to give Syracuse this game and then the Orange proceed to cough the ball up in consecutive possessions...Jim Boeheim coached team?

With the way Duke handled Wisconsin in Madison, a Kentucky-Duke final is just looking so inevitable right now. Both teams are so strong.

I did not catch the whole game but it really bothers me that they can review a foul to see if a player was fouled behind the 3pt line and they don't actually review it for the contact? Thankfully Gonzaga player couldn't make his FTs.

I don't know if I could have taken the loss after the football game last night. I was one of 3 people rooting for Arizona in the bar I watched the first half in. Ouch!

Going in I felt like they were playing on house money. They are a year or two ahead of schedule. By the 4th quarter I was just glad it's basketball season.

They'll have a decent shot finishing top 10 in both major college sports and maybe the best combo of coaches, both of whom are relatively young.

Michigan has lost two straight games at home to non ranked teams...crazy. they looked really good just last week and now they have Arizona coming up on Saturday. I'll be looking forward to that one. College basketball has been nothing but fun so far...I sometimes watch it more than NBA games because they let them play!

That really sucks. They'll have a chip on their shoulder plus it kills Arizona SOS.

Not that they aren't a virtual lock for a top 2 seed in the West. But still. Bragging rights.

Michigan never stood a chance. That was... well, let's be positive. The most complete game the Wildcats have played all season. Some nice dunks. TJ's dish. Stanley Johnson really coming into his own (funny to think 2-3 games into the season there was "chemistry concerns").

Oh, and I'm sure it's no coincidence that they picked this game to bring RichRod and the football team onto the court at halftime to give a pep rally. HA!

this Uconn Duke game is pretty fun to watch...Okafor is so good. He is worth the tank, a team will be lucky to have him. He needs to lose some baby fat though, looks very slow.

wow 24-0? I'm glad I missed that one. UTEP gave Arizona a run for their money last night...game was on too late so I didn't get a chance to finish.
