Jeff Green tired of losing

#1
Article recently came out about Jeff Green being tired of losing. The Celts have him under contract for another year after this, so they could just tell him to wait and see if they hit big in Free Agency. (I don't think they will be able to pull it off.)

So he's long been rumored in trades. DWill for him works straight up, but puts the Kings 1 mill away from the luxury tax. Of course, why the Celts would give him up for just DWill is a big question. Maybe just to give them more cap space? They do risk losing Rondo as well.

So... I really have no idea what the Celts plan to do, but does Green fit in on the Kings as a stretch 4? Malone is using DWill as the guy to guard other stretch 4s. Green can do taht and provide offense. He tends to be a bit erratic in production, but can go off for 30 at times. Because of his skills and athleticism, he works well in the the all 6'8 lineups they've been running lately with Casspi and Gay.

So *sips coffee* discuss.

I was just gonna bring him up we think alike my man.

I was over at the celtics forum and apparently Angie loved Nik so we got that going for us. Hopefully DWill can keep up some of this play to fool other teams (PDA dont fall for it). Nik/DWill/ray.

We would be very very good vs teams with small PF are teams who go small a lot.

Screw Ainge. I don't give a rat's tail if he likes Nik or not. I hope your not suggesting that we give up all three players for Jeff Green. Two of the three I'm hoping will develop as a King. The other depends on the offer.

If they have an unhappy camper then they are not in the drivers seat.

I actually feel Green can not only play spot minutes of small ball 4 to guard other stretch 4s, but also play some at SG in those big lineups. As a 6th man fill-in at three spots, he provides some finishing and outside shooting. That's valuable because if you can get more outside shooting on the bench, then Sessions play will likely improve. Right now Ramon is a drive and dump/kick guy who has poor finishers and poor shooters around him. So he's trying to finish in traffic and has been horrible at it.

Green takes terrible, low percentage shots. That being said, with proper coaching I'm sure he can be useful here off the bench as a super sixth man...I would welcome him with open arms for a reasonable price.

He is a 3 and i doubt he would be happy with a reserve role for the Kings. Honestly this is not the place to be, if you want to win. At best we are in range of the Nr. 8 spot late in the season. Boston might be able to get to a similar spot in the east.

I'd give Boston Nik and Sessions for Bradley and Vitor Faverrani (injured but has range and blocks shots)

Our defense in the backcourt with Ben/Collison and Bradley is 48mins of nasty.

Boston would never bite on this deal. They are not in a rebuild/tank-mode at all costs. They seem to have a clear vision, where the team should be heading. This is PG-heavy, fast-paced Playstyle with Bigs, who can shoot from the outside, to open up a maximized space for Pick&Roll and Drive&Kick. Alongside Rondo and Smart Bradley is a key component, cause the great perimeter defense needs to cover the weakness inside, where they lack a good shotblocker.
More often than not, they played a 3 guard lineup with Rondo, Bradley and Smart to swarm the opposing team and apply high ball pressure.
Jeff Green fits their vision too, as an athletic 3, who can run the floor and shoot 3's.
They will not cut ties with those players for unproven rookies or future cap space.

They are pretty much 1 shotblocker away from getting into the playoffs in the east. They have 2 very talented young Bigs, who fit their vision. They have a Top-10 to Top-15 SF. They have the best ball-distributor in the game, who seems to be loyal to the organisation and 2 stud-defenders to guard the opposing best perimeter player.
This is a decent core to build on.

Kings better focus on teams like the Nets, Knick or Nuggets, who need to blow things up, in order to get some trade done.

That imo is a terrible idea if that's what they are doing. In the East your always in the race for the playoffs unless you are beyond terrible.

If you think so. I watched plenty of Celtics games lately, just because they are really fun to watch and take a completely different approach than the Kings. Stevens does an awesome coaching job and in my opinion it's just a matter of maturing and Kelly becoming more aggressive (this kid is just a really skilled, big basketball player). They might overhaule their roster, if they are getting some value in return, but they won't trade away key pieces like Rondo, Green or Bradley for basically nothing.
The moment they drafted Smart the media was assuming that Rondo would be traded asap. It didn't happen yet and i bet it won't happen at all, cause Rondo fits their vision and wants to stay at Boston.

They are 4-2 versus eastern Teams. Not too bad.

He's basically a SF, which isn't a position of need. On the other hand if he were ever somehow brought back to being a roleplayer type guy, rather than a guy who got swell headed form that "Three Amigos' nonsense in OKC, he had the skills coming into the league to be all around useful. Its ironic he was pressed into becoming basically an offensive minded SF when he is entirely mediocre at that aspect of the game.

I generally think we need 1 or 2 more quality NBA guys, not just vets, but real contributors who can be dangerous at times, to become really dangerous ourselves. Green would fit that if we could bring him in as a bench guy (he would be eaten alive and gutted by WC PFs). he could also fit the "positionless basketball" thing if he was brought back from chucking and started to be used for versatile skills again. But many problems with that, including him displacing Casspi who has been just about our best bencher (and there Green's versatility allowing him to play PF or maybe even SG would help), and the fact that Danny Ainge is probably going to get better efforts unless we truly did throw Nik out there.
