Darren Collison

i know its been two games but what are your thoughts/feelings towards DC.

He's made a steady start for me and has been a solid facilitator and defender. Greater offensive efficiency would be good as i know he can definitely shoot a higher % and im sure that will improve as he gets comfortable in our offense but look im glad we have him

Defensively, the other team has to be aware of him which has not happened from the PG position for awhile. Liked the pickup then, like the pickup now.

hopefully correlates to wins. Very well should. If we can get a streak together in what is a fairly difficult initial schedule confidence will build and we'll turn some heads this season.

It all starts with DC. Rudy and Boogie are our stars and finishers but it all starts with young Darren Collison. Love what he brings to the table and his all around impact. Perfect fit for us. News is we were trying to acquire Klay Thompson before he reuped with the warriors. Good to see us actively looking to better our roster with top talent though id say PG is sorted for us unless Williams or Rondo becomes available.

Love his play. IT is having a great impact on the Suns and DC is having a great impact here. It seems like Thomas leaving and Darren coming was best for both parties.
Yep. I'm very happy for IT's success in Phoenix, and Collison has been amazing for us. I can't wait to see how Collison handles the Phoenix guards

To me it's clear Collison and IT are two different type of players with different skill sets and so far I can see why PDA and Malone targeted Collison. He pushes the pace but looks to pass first and shooting the mid range or long ball are last on his list.

Let's hope he inspires the big two to keep moving the ball. Last game it looked like cuz was looking to make quick decisions

Always knew DC could be a starter and should be a starter. He reminds me a bit of Chauncey Billups. Not really the style of play, but how he underwhelmed a bit early on despite having the talent. When Billups got with a team that seemed to want him and he found the right group of guys, he flourished. I hope that's the same way with DC and I think it will be.

His personality fits this team and he has the potential to initiate the team chemistry we're looking for, from the point guard position.

Could end up being one of those moves that we look back on in near future and go..."yeah, they knew exactly what he could bring with the intangibles". Team chemistry being at the top of the list

DC is the kind of guy I have wanted for quite awhile. I know a lot of people hope and pray for an All Star type PG but we have to allocate our money wisely. We don't need an All Star but just a guy who is good enough. I think Collison is good enough. Our scoring will come from elsewhere and if Nik becomes what I think he can become in a few years, we'll be in fine shape. If we are lucky, Ben might become something but I am not going to hold my breath. :) I think next year will be the crucial year for this team.

this thread should of been created probably after a month of collison instead of two days. that being said, he needs to keep working on his three point shot because he rarely ever makes any, his field goal percentage is solid though so I'll take that. He isn't the best defender but there is no question he competes and that's all you can ask for.

Dude, what is up with Zach lowe? What's with the Kings bashing obsession? Like, he just can't help himself. And he's also been wrong. Badly. Yet he keeps at it.

Kinda sad Zach.

Hey the way he has improved his defense in a couple years we could have a Klay thompson like defender. I think that was a strength in his scouting report and he has elite athletisicm.

People really have to stop using "Klay Thompson like defender" as if they were saying "Tony Allen like defender". Klay works hard on that end and with Wade and Kobe's decline might be the best of the top SGs on that end. But he's solid/strong, not lockdown.

"Klay Thompson like defender" maybe = "Wesley Matthews like defender"

Well there won't be a lot of tony allen defenders that's why. Klay/Wes are still great defenders.

Just differering semantics then. I would call them "good" defenders who shouldn't ever make an all defense team, but as long as people recognize the difference between those guys and truly great defensive guards call them great if that's your standard.
