Portland's a very good team. They will have some fire power in this series. Rockets, however, are just the better overall team. Dwight will dominate. Harden will drop 40. Houston takes this bad boy 4 - 2

My disdain for Dwight Howard makes it impossible for me to root for the Rockets. I'd rather see Portland win, so that's how I voted. ;)

Wow what a insane game 1, LMA was a monster than he commited a DMC like 6th foul after dropping 46 points, than that scumbag who flops all the time Harden choked which made me happy. Amazing game of basketball even with the awful refing.

I think last nights game cements LMA as no worse than a top 3 power forward in the game. I couldn't help but think after that game what Boogie could do in the playoffs.

I definitely don't hate watching Houston lose.

I don't like either one of these teams, frankly, but I dislike Portland less than I dislike Houston, so I guess I'm rooting for them for two weeks. Once the Rockets are eliminated, however, the Trailblazers can't fall off the face of the earth fast enough to make me happy.

That referee last night was atrocious. Reminded me of the infamous Kings-Lakers series where the ref was trying so damn hard to get Houston to win. Luckily, Portland won. I was rooting so hard for Portland to win. Even that 6th foul on Howard was a tactical play by the ref knowing that Portland's free-throw shooter was going to miss at least one and still give Houston a chance to at least tie it. Bastard.

Amazing game though. LMA and Lillard are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the present and in the future. Batum did a solid job on defense throughout as well.

I can't figure out whether this is supposed to be well-crafted sarcasm, halfhearted trolling, or simply an uninformed opinion.

I grok your predicament, which is why I'm temporarily rooting for the team NOT from Southern California to take care of business against the team that shares Staples Center.

Heh. And I'm completely the opposite. I don't like the Clippers, at all, but I dislike them less than I dislike the Warriors. The Clippers may be horrible people, but at least they play a style of basketball I like to watch. When they're not too busy flopping, of course.

I would be very happy to see Stephen Curry fall through an open manhole.

Flopping ... and whining ... and posing ... and pouting ... and showboating ... I could go on but I suspect you could fill in most of my list for me. ;)

Well, Houston CAN still take this 4 - 2....I just don't see it happening that way anymore after games 1 and 2. Game 3 should be a darn good one....I predict a sweep if Houston don't win game 3...

do elaborate, please. is it just because he called somebody a weirdo?
No cause at least Dwight goes out there and plays basketball instead of flopping relentlessly to get a whistle and when that's not working for him like in the last two playoffs he completely falls apart and plays ZERO defence. I gained respect for Dwight the way he at least competes James Harden on the other hand is a guy that just plays for the whistle and it's disgraceful to watch as a fan of basketball.

pretty sure VF was talking about Dwight the person, not Dwight the basketball player, so it looked like you were attacking Harden's character, which should explain my confusion. but yeah, I agree, Harden is being exposed by the Blazers this series. should give Brick some satisfaction, too.

Agree with the flopping. I can't stand it when guys just barrel their way into the paint at full speed and flop and the refs just send them to the free throw line.

So you don't like players who are great at offense and disinterested in defense? Sounds like another argument that goes on around here. :) I wonder what a dose of Malone would do for Harden's over all game. Even a twinkle of defense would make Harden very scary. Not saying we should work a trade as it would cause all kinds of problems but Harden has the tools for defense but no one seems to have ever asked him to give it a shot.

dunno if I can agree with that, considering he spent the first part of his career under Scottie Brooks, who is one of the best defensive coaches in the NBA. last season seems to have spoiled him in that regard, and he's in for a rude awakening, if he continues this path.

Nah if he didn't flop around and get unearned free throws I would actually enjoy watching him, the foul calls he gets during the regular season are a joke and without them he's honestly been terrible, it's like he doesn't know how to play basketball without trying to manipulate the refs and when they don't fall for it he's done.

It's that kind of stuff is the reason why I no longer watch soccer I don't want to watch WWF when I'm watching pro sports.

Jeremy Lin was this game without doubt going to loss it for the Rockets another idiotic end of game play and this one cost them probably the series. Can't beleive he didn't learn from game one seriously wtf is wrong with him.

Houston is a weird team. I just never saw them going far. They are very similar to the Clippers IMO but lack that team chemistry.

A lot of anti-Houston talk, and well I am rooting for the Blazers since the days of me being contrarian to local teams are long gone, but the Blazers buzzer play really has me irritated. Two games in a row they had a tie with a shot to take the lead and instead of a drive for a easy bucket or foul they launch a turd of a long range 3. In the loss Friday they had time to get a good look and didn't bother, the other night they had 3 seconds but still pretty much settled right off the bat.

Everyone in Portland thinks the officiating is one-sided to Houston. Thoughts on this? I think Portland is afraid to shoot free throws and most of my friends are annoying homers so it doesn't matter.

Portland's two best players are allergic to contact so it's really difficult to say that the officiating is one-sided, especially when the generally accepted strategy to stopping Dwight Howard is to hack the living day lights out of him and Harden can drive the ball because Robin Lopez and Thomas Robinson are their best interior defenders. Lamarcus is perhaps the least physical big man this side of Channing Frye and Damien Lillard is content with parking out beyond the key with Howard and Asik in the middle. That all being said, the defense in this series has been atrocious, Keith Smart level piles of excrement.
