[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

My point was more in response to the notion that the Kings rushed into extending Barnes without trying for anyone else. I’d guess teams have a decent sense of how the market is going to play out, even before free agency technically begins.

We don’t really think free agency begins on the official date, do we?

    Following Potential *2024* Draftees

Isn’t the Davion Mitchell pick a significant counter example to Monte supposedly preferring offense in the lottery? Sure, it’s just one example, but Monte’s pick history is not really the largest sample either.

Yeah, if I had the time, the stats I would be interested in taking a deep dive into would be comparing the offense from last season to this season, both individually and as a team.

yeah, I’m wondering if the surprising output just says more about that stat than any of the teams?

I see they’ve been posted here already, but you may have been thinking of my post here: https://community.kingsfans.com/threads/king-in-arabic.96290/page-4#post-1804099 it’s the Huerter numbers that were surprisingly better, to me.

    The Sabonis Thread

Well, I’d guess this is just some crummy aggregation. The Athletic recently ran a survey of NBA players that included a question of who was the most overrated player in the league. Domas was tied with four other players with 2.5% of the vote. 81 votes were cast, so if my math is correct, that...

“RUN IT BACK!” / Monte needs to fix this.

Right, Indy just traded picks for Siakam, Cleveland traded several and swaps for Mitchell, and of course Minnesota was dragged for all the picks and young players it included in the Gobert trade but it appears to be working out for them. I suppose all these moves are “successful” in that I would...

Forgot about that. If I remember correctly, he defended it in the comments saying Monk was something like the classic score-first 6th man candidate, as if that was a bad thing, and as if Monk didn’t also lead the league in assists off the bench. Basura.

I ran the numbers and posted them somewhere earlier in this thread, I think. The Monk+starters lineup actually performed worse than those with Ellis or Huerter this year. Last season, though, the Monk lineup outperformed the Huerter lineup. Would be curious what is behind that, it certainly...

    FIRE MIKE BROWN

I believe that NBC story is just a re-write of the Athletic article I posted earlier. In that piece, they reported that Brown doesn’t necessarily have 2 years left, the last year is a mutual option. It wasn’t specific about timing, but I didn’t have the sense that Brown is just now asking for an...

There’s a limit on stringing together options, though, isn’t there? Like you couldn’t just offer to take on the risk and have a 1+3 years of player options?
