The whole team is soft. As bad as the Kings defense was to start, the only guy doing ANYTHING on defense for the Mavs was Pachulia. Everyone else on the team was pathetic on the defensive end.
Hand size doesn't dictate shooting ability. Jordan had massive paws. Kawhi Leonard has some of the biggest hands in the NBA. I doubt Rondo's hands are bigger than Cousins'. Each of those guys were/are good free throwers. Shooting is mechanics and depth perception. Rondo's mechanics are not...
Speed and weight are both factors on injury. I suspect that the drives from the three point line are a much higher risk for injury (change of direction, collisions at speed) than simply running up and down the floor.
If the Kings lose Rondo, they likely lose Cousins as well. At that point, you need to cash in and begin the rebuild in earnest. Collison is not going to be enough to retain Cousins if/when Rondo jumps ship.
That lineup has a weakness at PF, but I agree that it is one the Hornets were poorly equipped to exploit. Ben can guard 1-3 reasonably well. Rondo can guard 1s and 2s. Omri and Gay can guard 3's and 4's. Cousins can play goalie.
The problem comes when we roll out the 6'1", 180 lb. Collison...
To be fair, Kemba has been an unmitigated chucker since he entered the league. For his career he is averaging 15 shots per game on a FG% of less than 40. This is the first year that his 3pt% has been north of 33%. I am no Isaiah Thomas fan, but Thomas has been the better player in the league...
It was driving me crazy all night that the Kings weren't running a second seven footer out there against Marvin Williams all night. Let Koufos bully him in the post. Let WCS rebound everything. Just, just awful.
