Hey King fans, I decided to redo this first post and would like to apologize for gloating in the previous one, I easily could have made this thread without it. I was just so excited when I woke up and heard the news, I honestly didn't think we'd make any more moves this season. I want to apologize to all the King fans, you guys are some of the classiest fans and did not deserve that one bit. In all honestly, before I made this post, the possibility of losing your team to Seattle did not cross my mind at all and I had forgotten about that situation, I wasn't thinking, there is no way I would have added the passive aggressive tone had I known about the Seattle situation and definitely wouldn't have thrown in all that nonsense about Morey the Wizard. Overall it was insensitive, unnecessary and I was completely in the wrong. I also want you guys to know that despite my gloating, it did not represent the Houston Rocket fans, they're great people, never had issues with any of them at any of the games, no Houston Rocket fan encouraged me to come on your board. It was a d*ck move by me and I'm not proud of it now looking back.

I have nothing against the Kings, I freaking loved that squad back in the day with C-Webb, Christie, Bibby and company. You have a tremendous talent in Cousins, and I honestly think he has Tim Duncan like talent, at least on the offensive end. You're closer to being relevant than you think, you're just a hot mess right now, but a foundation piece is there, in Cousins, and that makes things a little easier. It's like having a bad football team but you just drafted a QB in the first round that has potential to be great...the rest of the pieces eventually fall in place.

Make Tyreke a Sixth Man and he could kill it, get a REAL point guard and it'll do wonders for Cousins.

Gut the team except for Cousins, Tyreke and Patterson and start building around that. Isaiah Thomas could also work a great trading piece since you already have Tyreke.

On to the new additions you got from us:

Patrick Patterson is a nice piece for you. He's a great spot up shooter, can shoot the 3, plays solid D and also a versatile defender that can step out to the perimeter a little. Seems to have a bit of a post game but not sure how good it is since we didn't run many iso plays for him, most of his points came off feeds. However rebounding and setting picks are both weaknesses for him. Cousins can make up for the rebounding and I don't see why they wouldn't be able to play well together. I think PP will eventually start over Jason Thompson. If you get a true PG, it will do wonders for PP and Cousins.

Tony Douglas can play a little, good spot up shooter and plays tough D, but he's also another undersized shooting guard that plays point guard, since you already are loaded with those, I suspect this move was mainly about matching salaries.

Cole Aldrich struggled for us, but maybe he'll be a better use for you, he is a big body with some mobility.


Sacramento is not only a great city, but also a great city for a basketball team, I really do hope the Kings end up staying, your team has a lot of great history and as I said already, some of the classiest fans. Minus the gloating, the original intent was to get an input on T-Robb from King fans and find out what went wrong with him in Sacramento and hopefully that is done now but with more respect. As a Rocket fan, we too have been dealt with some crappy hands of our own not too long ago, with the career ending injuries to both T-Mac and Yao in their prime. I'll definitely be rooting for your team to stay.

Sorry, but your post seems a tinge passive aggressive. If you are looking for reinforcement that you guys got the best deal, you won't find much argument here. But its mostly based on future potential. You guys got a project, and it could go either way. TRob is a few years from being a reliable backup, let along a starter. He's a bit wild and needs to slow way down. He has decent mechanics, but is a terrible jump shooter. He gets most of his points off put backs and dunks. Has an occasional ally oop but IMO has bad timing and not so good hands. He can defend one on one, but is totally lost on defensive schemes. Not really sure the IQ is there. On the flip side, he has potential. Super athletic, quick and great motor. That's what we are bummed about. He could go either way tho. There is nothing for sure there IMO. He has never dominated or done much to change the outcome of a game. For a 5th pic he has definitely underachieved... and yes he has had his chances.

As far as what we got. The best thing we may get out of PP is a buddy to chill out Cousins. Aldrich was a 11 pick, has size, and fills a spot in need... still maybe hoping something there; doesn't sound like it according to you tho. Douglas is just gonna be added to the guard heap we already have. Nothing good will come from that.

So yes, we probably got hosed. But then again, your new toy also has allot to live up to. This is going to take a couple years to see who won.

Thanks for the note. I pretty much knew the info you gave us on the players we got.

As to TRob, the best answer is "I don't know." He never got regular playing time and when he did play, he appeared a bit lost. I don't know if that's because he is a rookie, the coaching, or both. He never was given a chance and there is the possibility he didn't earn a chance. His main skill is rebounding. He could become a decent defender as he is quick enough to do a decent job out to the the three point line. I doubt if he will ever be much of a scorer. He has no shot although he has probably never needed one as he could over power people in college so we don't know how he will evolve. As to the PnR, I can't say I saw him involved in one which is not unique on this team. He could do it very well because of his size and quickness but he is going to need some teaching. He is fortunate to leave here. I hope he is given some attention as he could be a solid rotation player and if you are lucky, a starter.

Perhaps most likely he will be a super garbage man because of his athleticism. Others might be able to give much more info but basically we never got to see him play. I think most of us were disappointed in how he was used.

I personally doubt that Honeycutt has a career although there will be people who disagree. I suspect those who disagree are people who followed him in college. I think they are wrong.

Garcia can contribute. He is not big, he is not tall but is a decent shooter, has a unique skill of being able to block shots from behind and is the ultimate locker room guy. He would call up rookies after the games and check how they were doing. I personally would like him back on the Kings but at less salary. He is the ultimate pro. He will not complain. He will do what the team wants. He is injury prone. I think everyone here liked him and he got some minutes lately perhaps to showcase him for a trade. He was the longest tenured King which is either good or bad depending on the mood you are in when you think carefully about that statement.

Our coach is so bad that any evaluation of any of our players except for a couple has to be looked at through a prism that includes the fact they were all misused.

Aldrich is terrible. I'd rather put 6'5" Chuck Hayes in at center than Aldrich. If he gets back up minutes, I'd expect him to get benched rather early like what happened in Houston. Just remember that Hasheem Thabeet saw the floor in OKC and Aldrich couldn't.

We're pretty thin at the 4, so T-Robb might get some early playing time. Other than T-Robb, we only have one true 4 on the team and that's Motiejunas who still has a lot of work to do. In fact we've been starting 6'7" shooting guard/small forward Carlos Delfino at the 4 for the last 2 games lol.

you can definitely see how T-Rob would fit in Houston. he's a pretty good rebounder, his TRB% ranks him somewhere in the top30 NBA wide. him and Asik together should be dominant on the boards (as DMC and him should've been), which will help your -already pretty damn good- fastbreak game a lot. he'll also run fill the lanes and bring the ball up himself occasionally, the first thing being a good thing, the second very much not so. your coaching staff should be able to stop him from doing so, seeing as how you have a lot of players that actually can run a decent fastbreak (Harden/Lin/Parsons). he can't stretch the floor like 2Pat or Morris could, but he does have the potential to at least be a decent midrange shooter and, as others have noted, he's a good defender and improving. considering your circumstances, I'd be ecstatic if I were you. T-Rob is now in a system that is pretty ideal for him and has a coaching staff that will help a lot in unlocking his potential. plus, he's now removed from a situation that was clearly not ideal for him and will be extra motivated to prove himself.

No kidding, anyone looking to dump on this trade are doing so pretty much because they still think of TRob as a #5 pick. He'll probably top out somewhere around a Paul Millsap level and if the Jazz drafted Paul Millsap at #5 they'd probably still be talking bust talk too.

My personal opinion is that the Rockets got a better prospect, the Kings got a better player for their needs. Just really hope Aldrich gets a chance to play too.

First of all, give it up to Daryl Morey the Wizard, who's been known to pull off some heists, obviously the recent trade with y'all, the Harden trade as well as the Kevin Martin trade (Kevin Martin was also the centerpiece in getting Harden).
