I guess that's why I'm always wanting more Tyrek post-ups.

I also found Smart's comments on multiple effort plays on the boards interesting. There's only one possible multiple- effort player on the boards for this team - Thomas Robinson. He has the quick jumping ability, balance and athleticism to recover quickly from defending someone or after a rebound attempt. Cousins and Thompson just don't have that athletic ability, and there certainly is no 3 on this team with that ability.

P.S. It was odd to me that there was not a single question on minute distribution in the interview.

The mystery is why we don't see more of it. Also, why we don't see it more consistently. Very odd.

I don't think there is a coincidence there is so much talk about Smart after his being handled by Popovitch. I went to Pops' biography:

"In 1994, Popovich returned to San Antonio as the general manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations after a new ownership group purchased the team."

Did anyone know that Pop was hired to this position after only being an assistant with first SA and then Golden State? I'd like to know what that ownership group saw in him to elevate a short-term assistant to a position of huge importance in their organization. If I'm in the new ownership group of the Kings I'm talking to those people that hired him and ask them what their thought process was in hiring him.

I stopped reading at him seeing Cuz's game being similar to Dirk, also its disturbing how much he references Don Nelson.

Honestly I think he sounds really good, besides the Cuz/Dirk comparison.
But he has and usually does say the right things, and the biggest issue with him is minute distribution.

I put more blame on Petrie for this mess, but Smart is not making it better in any way.

I don't know... I think there are a few times where Lowe (the writer) seems clearly confused by what Smart's doing, if not what he's saying about it. And for good reason.

Always loved Reke at the post. If I remember correctly, his first NBA points were at the post against Westbrook. Definitely should run more post plays for both Reke/DMC, but Smart always seem to go away from something that's being effective, like a Reke/DMC pick n roll for example.

Having Tyreke "post" and face up is an excellent move for him. He can take basically anyone off the dribble when he faces up.

Similar to Melo when he gets the ball down there.

Exactly. Our rebounding just got worse, and if you project into the future, far worse, than if we didn't make this trade.
