The frontcourt was better in those days too! When we finally dealt Landry and had Cousins - Dalembert - Thompson. Then there was Terrence Williams the year after that who should have stuck around.

I was just looking at Beno's numbers in the Dalembert season. 14 points, 5 AST on .500 shooting for a guard. The second highest FG% on the team behind JT. This was in a season where Evans also averaged 5.6 AST and Thornton had 3.4 AST.

This year? No one is averaging more than 3.2 AST, and We have no defensive presence in the frontcout. We put on a clinic on how to **** up a rebuild.

One more thing on Beno - His per36 numbers are still very good. He will be a FA this offseason. Someone is going to get a really nice player, and I wouldn't mind it being us.

Before we go missing Westphal too much, he did pick Smart as his assistant coach, so he is partly to blame for unleashing the horror upon us... I seem to have erased from memory what was so bad about Musselman and Theus although I know I was on the fire-them-now bandwagon.

Someone needs to remind Smart who was the Kings leading scorer last season and give him some consistent minutes.

Pretty sure Petrie put Smart on Westy's staff.

“Sacramento is where I want to be,’’ he said. “I want to bring the organization back, help the organization get started back winning. I love the city of Sacramento. That’s where I want to be. End of story. “We can dig a hole, throw that topic in there, cover it with dirt, pack it down. I want to be in Sacramento. End of story.’’ -DeMarcus Cousins

Our franchise literally is about to rise from the ashes.

I think someone else in the front office other than Petrie was given credit for it. The name Cooper comes to mind, but I wouldn't trust my memory on that. Not even sure someone in the front office has that name.

Wayne Cooper is VP of Basketball Operations, at least as of last summer.

    So will Dalembert! Just saying!

Oh and in case people are wondering, we are stuck with Chuck for another 2 seasons after this one before he finally comes off the books. He is our new Kenny Thomas, the ultimate moveable piece.
Jim Capers once called a foul on me while I was sitting on the bench. Tweet! "Foul, number fifty-three! Five-three!" Everybody was confused and looking around for number 53, so I stood up and said, "I'm over here and the only thing I'm fouling is the water bottle." - Darryl Dawkins

To be fair to Chuck he is way more valuable to us now than Kenny Thomas ever was, and commands a slightly lower price

Chuck Hayes is a guy you sign when you're a team on the cusp and need a veteran guy to grab you some boards and do dirty work. He's not a guy you go after when you're a lottery team. A good player, but a bad signing. Just one more example of the organization having no vision of a future and certainly no detailed plan.

To be fair, there cant be much of a plan when you arent allowed to spend over the salary cap and have to compete with teams that exceed the cap by 15-45 million. What kind of a plan could one come up with that would make any kind of a difference given this situation?
