    A little perspective

It's gloomy around here a lot of the time, and with good reason. But here are a few things to help put it all into perspective:

    Lakers current record: 14-15
    Kings current record: 9-19

So basically, the Lakers are spending $42.1M more this year, have at least 3 future HoF candidates on their roster and still only have 5 more wins than the Kings?

Two poorly constructed teams just one has more talent

Yeah but the Lakers will end up winning 47 games, make the playoffs, and have a chance if everything comes together at the right time. Meanwhile, we will finish 26-56 and be talking about who we are going to draft with the 5th pick.

I see what you're trying to do here, VF21, and it's a nice thought originally. But bump this again at the end of the season and we'll see how close the records are

Is this thread suppose to make us Kings' fans happy?

    I don't get it.

The problem lies in paying the maloof's. You have to starve an illness to get better.

It's not about the final record. For me it's more about the fact that while we're unhappy, Laker fans are frothing at the mouth. It gives me comfort.

It has been shown through social psychological studies that the saying "misery loves company" is not quite true. The data instead more accurately supports "misery loves miserbable company," and "misery hates happy company."

You provide an excellent example of it.

I have maintained that my 2 favorite teams in the NBA are:

    1) The Kings
    2) whoever is playing the Lakers

Greatest preseason moment of all time.

I will always be a Kings fan, even after the day they die.

At the risk of playing Donny Downer, here is a little more perspective:

No. Player Pos Ht Wt Birth Date Exp College

    26 Shannon Brown G 6-4 205 November 29, 1985 6 Michigan State University

    3 Jared Dudley F 6-7 225 July 10, 1985 5 Boston College

    40 Luke Zeller C 6-11 245 April 7, 1987 R University of Notre Dame

Suns' salary: $51.6M ($6.5M under the cap)
    Suns' All-Stars: none
    Suns' Hall Of Famers: none
    Suns' record: 11-18

This galls me because the Suns, from my point of view, seem to be built eerily like the Kings (Skilled big-check. Dynamic guard who can't shoot-check. Soft, jump-shooting roleplayers-check. Can't defend-check. Beat like a drum on the glass-check). And yet, they, at least, seem to have some sort of identity, and look like they might have some sort of general ideal of what direction they want to move in. And, as bad as they are, they're still better than us. That leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Another fun fact: The Kings won their last four games against the Lakers (three in the preseason, one in the regular season).

And they started their rebuild a whole lot later than us. It wasn't that long ago they were one of the top teams in the West, only about 4-5 years ago. As for us ...

No doubt. This was the best NBA rivalry in a long time. I was watching this game with my brother and dad when it happened. Crazy everyone was so impassioned back then.
