Petrie sure knows how to rebuild a team, eh?

Our rebuild has come full circle. Back to where we were 5 years ago.

But we have Thomas Robinson! He will save our franchise with his garbage time windmill dunks!

"The current Sacramento Kings owners have proven time and time again that they do not care about the squad’s fans, the community that surrounds the team, and the product on the court. The Sacramento Kings owners are sniveling, conniving front-runners that do not understand the game of basketball, much less the ideals that help buttress attempts at tact, poise and reason." - Kelly Dwyer

The Webber trade was made on Feb. 23, 2005.

Doesn't really matter the specific day. That week, those few days, whatever its labeled - was the beginning of the downfall of this franchise. Will we one day become better and back into contention? I believe so. However, that trade set in motion many moves and years that really could have all been prevented in the first place.

    It's NEVER Petrie's fault.

    He is just the GM.

The players we got from drafts and trades?

They were all chosen and negotiated by the Maloofs and the coaches that we've had. Petrie has nothing to do with them.

It was the Maloofs and the coaches who assembled this dysfunctional roster. Never has it been part of Petrie's job.

(This is at least according to the members of Petrie's Cult in this board.)

In my mind I see CWebb crumpling with the leg injury that ended the All Star portion of his carreer. Vlade got a little older and signed with LA.

Adelman was sent packing because he did not coach "defense". Maloofs were invested in the wrong thing when the economy went south.

    It is what it is.

So I guess this means the Salmons trade was a good thing, right?

"This league has a habit, and I am just going to say habit, of producing some pretty incredible story lines," Kahn said. "Last year it was Abe Pollin's widow and this year it was a 14-year-old boy and the only thing we have in common is we have both been bar mitzvahed. We were done. I told Kevin: 'We're toast.' This is not happening for us and I was right." David Kahn

All we are missing is a good head coach. Someone with some freaking credentials. Nate mcmillan, jeff van gundy, hell i would even take his brother stan. Look at jj hickson. He was shooting 37% here last year and soon as he's traded goes on averaging 15/8 at 54% for rest of the year. Now he averages a double double at a 57% clip. Something is wrong with the coaching staff as well as the player development. Is it the environment? I dunno. I bet even thomas robinson would do a lot better on another team.
We are the laughing stock of the league and have been for 5 years.

Wrong. Adelman's contract was not renewed because he was not willing to toady to the Maloofs. He had a reputation and stature in his own right and it was obvious fairly quickly once the Maloofs started tinkering that there would be a parting of the ways.
