I disagree. They may be able to find a better offer out there, but it would be close to the one I suggested.
The tricky thing with Cleveland .. one that works in our favor, is that they do not have any bad contracts to dump, so money shouldn't be an issue.
If they want more, we have ways to sweeten the pot. Drop outlaw from the deal, give them Isaiah Thomas, who could be an awesome backup PG for them on the cheap behind Irving, give them Thomas Robinson, a top 5 pick, and we could drop our protection on the pick we already owe them from the Hickson deal... which would allow them to take our first round pick for this years draft .. likely a top 10 pick if we don't improve.
How many teams will be able to beat
Isaiah Thomas
Thomas Robinson
Top 10 / potentially top 3 pick
For Varajao
This also allows them to ship their asset to a bad western conference team... a team they will likely never have to play for anything significant. We are an ideal trade partner in that regard.
As far as a young players package goes, that is a good one. If they want proven veterans, we simply cannot help them. But if that is what they wanted .. then why wouldn't they just keep him?
Fans of a team aren't very good and coming up with trades for their team.
Here's an article on Varejao, opinion on his trade value/probability.

As long as Cousins and Evans remain, I couldn't care less if anyone else get traded as long as we get a player that fits a need. Having said that, I wouldn't trust Maloofs as far as I could throw them so I am fully expecting Cousins and Evans to be trade for some have beens!
Jim Capers once called a foul on me while I was sitting on the bench. Tweet! "Foul, number fifty-three! Five-three!" Everybody was confused and looking around for number 53, so I stood up and said, "I'm over here and the only thing I'm fouling is the water bottle." - Darryl Dawkins
Its hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard.
Hopefully Jimmer AND Isaiah. and garcia for that matter. lets hope this team can pull something off.
also, if Tyreke gets traded,so does my dedication to this team
Personally, I'd rather they trade Thomas for Tyler Hansbough. Not sure what the salary differences are, but Tyler has a nice shot and is a good rebounder for the Pacers. Unfortunately he wouldn't address the lack of passing on the Kings or provide veteran leadership for Cousins. Is Luke Walton still with the Cavs? Maybe some sort of 3 way to jettison Outlaw and Hayes as well as Thomas.
*edit* Giving Garcia some minutes would help the passing
It would be difficult for us to trade with the Cavs because they have talented and young guys at every position. Irving, Waiters, Gee, Thompson, Varejao/Zeller.
SF would probably be their biggest concern, but unfortunately, SF is our biggest concern as well. The only thing that Cleveland would be truly interested in would be our pick. If we change the terms of our pick with them and make it unprotected, then we might be on to something. I might be intrigued by a Thornton and unprotected 1st for Varejao, but it might take a Thornton, Robinson, unproctected 1st package to pry varejao away.
Personally, I think anyone on the team could be traded if the right deal came along. I have a feeling our higher profile players will be shopped but we will end up trading one of our bench guards when it's all done.
I would LOVE if we could snag Mullens from Charlotte. He's been someone I had watched since he was in high school and he's one of those players that ould be pretty good in this league if given a good chance. Not star material but VERY solid, like a rich man's JT. And having 2 JTs on the team is not bad at all with their work ethic.

THANK YOU MAYOR JOHNSON!
Thank you Vivek Ranadive!
Thank you Carmichael Dave!
Thank you Mike!
Thank you every other minority owner!
You all saved the Sacramento Kings! Long live Sacramento!
Mullens will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but Charlotte is actually winning for the first time in forever and he's a big reason why. You have to figure they're going to match whatever offer he gets, even if it means overpaying. He's a good young player though. We could certainly use a guy like that, but I don't think it makes sense to have Cousins, JT, Robinson, and Mullens on the same roster. If you pay Mullens you're paying him to play. Maybe if we end up trading JT he's someone we could look into, though like I said, Charlotte would be dumb not to match.
Defense matters.
Indeed, I have long thought that damn! If we could just replace one of our 55% shooting roleplaying PFs with a 38% shooting 7 footer off a bad team, we'd be set man.
