Thread: The Jimmer Experiment

    The Jimmer Experiment

Why not start Jimmer for at least a 5 game stretch and bring Aaron Brooks off the bench?

This season is already lost so why not. There are things to gain:

    1) you can shut up all of the jimmer fans because his play deteriorates in extended minutes and the kings continue to lose

2)he plays well and shows he's continuing to improve with extended minutes and maybe the kings win a few more ball games

We have a combined 4 wins with Aaron Brooks and Isaiah Thomas starting at PG. What are you all afraid of? Our season goes down the toilet? It's already down the toilet. If he plays well it may increase his trade value, for all of you who want him shipped out.

I've been a Kings fan before Jimmer was born.

OK.....go ahead and call me a Jimmer homer in 5,4,3,2,1..................

i certainly wouldn't consider you a jimmer homer. just a tad misguided...

    1) as much as i would love to shut up all the jimmer fans, it's not worth it...

    2) the kings may have a combined 4 wins with brooks and thomas starting at PG, but brooks and evans are actually developing some chemistry out on the court together in the short amount of time they've started alongside of each other. the last thing this team needs is to continue down the slippery slope of endlessly shifting starting lineups. things are bad. in fact, things are royally ****ed up. but let's not **** 'em up further by toying with these young players' fragile egos any further...

I can respect that. I do think one of the 3 (Brooks, Thomas, or Fredette) must be traded in a package deal for some vets. The Lakers seem to be getting more desperate by the minute.

Only if the Kings can somehow manage to trade small for large, or else the minutes will continue to be erratic, and Smart will get a shiny new toy to mess the minutes around with, leaving Sacramento in the same spot as before, but with different names.
I appreciate a good math pun - as long as it isn't too graphic.

I'm fine with this just to see what happens. But ONLY if keith smart isnt fired in the next 5 games so the season is totally lost

Unless the kings com up with winning streak now you can expect the teamwork give more playing time to Jimmer. The better the Kings would have played so far the less we would have sen of him.

I want a three guard rotation and have nothing against trying Fredette as a starter with Tyreke. Play 4 if Smart can't resist it. Let's not play them all. This isn't a "the starters are our best players" era in the NBA and a back court of Brooks and MT coming off the bench sounds good as good as anything. Let Tyreke and Jimmer work out the kinks of the relationship. I think clearly Jimmer is a different player than least year. He is more confident and his shot is falling. He had one game where people said he was selfish or words to that effect and the next game he had a bunch of assists so the stereotypes of Jimmer don't seem to fit when based on a game or two. Five games seems to be fair and what exactly is going to be lost? I think something can be gained.

One of our guards needs to go as does a SF or two. Or at the least, they don't need to be played. That's a whole different subject.

And, as I am losing on the interest in turning on the TV when they have a game, at least it would keep my interest. For ME, this is becoming a big issue.
    Upwards and onwards.

It would keep my interest too. If nothing else, Jimmer can be fun to watch. Who knows, with some consistent playing time from Jimmer it could mean more butts in the seats at "Sleep Train". Not that anyone should with good conscious give the Maloofs anymore of their hard earned $$$

I'd do it (start Jimmer) to see what might happen.
What may be lost in the experiment?
    1. Could make the other PGs unhappy (sorry, get over it)
    2. Could result in more losses (how could it be worse, though?)
    3. Could encourage Jimmer-mania, or Jimmer-panic among his fans (might at least be interesting to see it play out)
I'd say the possibilities outweigh the risks. Put him in, coach!

Based on matchups, he'll get his shot!

It makes ZERO sense not to start him at this point. HOWEVER, that would GUARANTEE higher attendance and probably lead to more wins, so that is BAD for the Magoofs. The Magoofs want OUT OF TOWN because they are TRASH.

Jimmer is rapidly becoming the Kings own Tim Tebow. A sideshow distraction.

I think that is unfair. Jimmer has shown quite an improvement.

Tebow is unfairly judged, too. Tebow will be a starter soon, though. I guarantee that. The Jets are a bad organization, just like the Kings.

Tebow is a QB that cant throw the freaking ball. he should not be a starter ever

this is exactly what needs to happen!!! Tyreke/MT/Brooks or IT. stick to 3 of them. 2 of the 3 will be on the court at ALL times. i been saying this all year.

He's one of the greatest passing QBs in college history, what are you talking about? His passing numbers his first two seasons were better than Elway's in the NFL, with of course more wins. Maybe they should've given up on Elway, too? The criticisms of Tebow make ZERO sense. Then again, you don't know what you don't know...just unfortunate that people comment on what they don't know.

Until Jimmer can show he can succeed off Reke the way Brooks has, no point in starting him, and our defense would suffer as Brooks is a fair amount better than Jimmer defensively. Right now while Jimmer has improved, it's with the ball in his hands, and if we're starting him next to Reke he has to play off Reke just as Brooks has done. Call me skeptical that that would happen.

What Jimmer fans are missing is that what Jimmer is excelling currently at doesn't fit with Reke/Cuz. Jimmer so far has been much better with the ball than without, and we're not going to be a better team for simply letting Jimmer do his thing while Reke/Cuz watch. Not at all. If Jimmer can shoot as he is now when off the ball, then it might work at some point, but thus far in Jimmers career he's not hitting many when playing off the ball.

“Sacramento is where I want to be,’’ he said. “I want to bring the organization back, help the organization get started back winning. I love the city of Sacramento. That’s where I want to be. End of story. “We can dig a hole, throw that topic in there, cover it with dirt, pack it down. I want to be in Sacramento. End of story.’’ -DeMarcus Cousins

Our franchise literally is about to rise from the ashes.
