Thread: Realistic Trades we can make

    Realistic Trades we can make

I just wanted to make a thread in which we can talk about realistic trades we can make to potenitally improve the team.

With the Lakers: we could potentially get Gasol (unlikely but still realistic), who has struggled mightly and has been humiliated by the coach. The Lakers need a athletic PF who can shoot and run the floor and a back up PG, Jason Thompson fits the mould perfectly and Isiah Thomas or Brooks is better than any PG the Lakers have other than Nash. (we would probably have to throw in something else to but thats fine)

This could improve the Kings by having a elite passer for his position and playing Gasol at centre where he thrives, we add size, a legit shot maker/creator,high IQ, move Cousins to PF and most importantly a winner.

The other guy who we could potentially get is Jordan Hill who has had issues with the Lakers coach since there time in New York and who is currently getting DNP's. If we can aquire Hill we have a top notch rebounder and a guy who will play harder each game than any current player on the roster. Hes a good defender and brings energy to the game which we have lacked, and he would provide if given a look more 2nd chance oppurtunites with his epic offensive rebounding.

We have an entire area devoted to trades: the Personnel Moves forum. For that reason, I'm moving this thread to that location.

Umm think you're forgetting one tiny little detail. You know that whole salaries have to match and all that?

    Who plays SF?

On defense Tyreke, offense we will play with 3 guards, Salmons barely contributed anything on ethier end and hes insanely overpaid for what he does and most likely wouldn't make another NBA roster (if he did he would be a 11/12th man). Losing Salmons is far from any kind of loss imo,.

    Salmons/Garcia/TRob/Jimmer for Gasol

    C - DMC/Chuck
    PF - Pau/JT/Outlaw
    SF - Honeycutt/JJ/
    SG -Reke/MT
    PG - AB/IT

Pick up Kenyon Martin, TWill, and Matt Caroll.

Honeycutt, I have yet to see him even play properly, can the dude play? But yeah id do all that in a heartbeat, even someone like Chris Douglas Roberts would be a good pick up at SF.

I rarely suggest riiduclous elaborate trades amongst uninterested parties. The big names I have mentioned are ones that for a variety of reasons could be there. Gasol (out of favor, big contract) -- would have to start with Salmosn and JT and go from there on that one. Have to be them trading for depth, whic is rarely thier style. Gortat (unhappy with role, refused extension), Prince (in the way of youth movement, they need scorers) etc.

Had not considered Hill, but really, Jordan Hill isn't any better than the non-Cousins bigs we already have.

Darren Collison falling out of favor in Dallas also caught my attention. Although there may be a reason he keeps falling out of favor. Nonetheless, remember he and Thornton chucked and ducked to big rookie numbers together, so another name (I'm not sure why a guy sort of establishing himself as mediocre in multiple stops would really be any better than Brooks who was at least as accomplished before coming to Sacto, but again, just watching for unhappy parties.

Washington could be open to trades for obvious reasons. Nab a vet, although Ariza can't shoot, which does not help, Okafor...? Again? But they still may wait for Wall. Just etc.

The Ed Davis and Calderon situations in Toronto interest me.

You keep waiting for Utah to dump one of its bigs -- unfortunately it is unlikely to be anybody we need (not that Petrie would realize that).

Drew Gooden is being actively shopped in Milwaulkee. Scary only because Jerry nearly creamed himself when we had him for 1 game several years ago.

Look for unhappy teams and unhappy players. Check fit on this end.

Yeap both of them really have interested me Ed Davis in particular, hes got a very decent post game and I been checking in on him since his UNC days. Great that you bring them up,

Another small name we should consider is Quincy Pondexter hes a glue guy, great attitude who has dramatically improved his shooting since hes gone to Memphis, he does everything you want in a SF hes athletic and costs next to nothing, he won't make us a playoff team by any means but I think hed be a very nice addition.

And they never will...that's why/how they've won so many championships.

Ryan Anderson should be a target for us when it comes to looking for trades. Maybe JT+IT or Hayes+IT might spark and intrest but i'm not sure.

That window is gone. If they wanted the team should have just signed him in the first place, instead of now having to add an asset to get him.

Aren't the Lakers looking to add Anderson?

They're looking, but the Hornets won't trade him. He's their best player and pretty much only scorer right now.

As said above, we should of signed Anderson in the offseason if we wanted to go that route.

Maybe a change of scenery would help Pau, but he's been whining and soft for the last year or so.

I don't know how the money looks but i assume they'd dangle Gasol.
