“Sacramento is where I want to be,’’ he said. “I want to bring the organization back, help the organization get started back winning. I love the city of Sacramento. That’s where I want to be. End of story. “We can dig a hole, throw that topic in there, cover it with dirt, pack it down. I want to be in Sacramento. End of story.’’ -DeMarcus Cousins
Our franchise literally is about to rise from the ashes.
I am agreeable to this proposal if we can also get Drummond to get our front court bigger.
Thornton and TRob
for
Prince and Drummond.

Seriously this team isn't working and if there isn't going to be a coach or GM change, there has to be a roster shakeup. Losing a smaller guard and adding a real forward should be simple enough that even Smart can't mess it up.
Thornton is the team's 3rd best player (depending on which versions of Reke/Cuz show up) and that's great, but it's silly for people to want to hold on to him for that reason. That's exactly why you move him, because his value is high and isn't going to change. He's paid fairly and at a salary big enough to net a solid veteran.

Prince for Thorton would solve a number of problems.
I will always be a Kings fan, even after the day they die.
What a terrifying trade. Despite the fact that Prince is hardly an upgrade over what we have now, you don't go trading young cost-controlled talent like Thornton for a veteran who will be in a retirement home by the time our team is ready to make a playoff run.
This team's window to at least show some promise is now. Reke/Cuz will be deciding their future in the next couple years. Trob is right behind. JT/Hayes are in their prime.
The trade will not affect the bigs, so the comparison is
Brooks(or IT)/Reke/Prince with a Jimmer/Salmons/JJ bench vs
Brooks(or IT)/Reke/Salmons with a Jimmer/Thornton/JJ bench.
The first one looks a lot better, especially considering how the bad we've seen the status quo actually is.

I would personally do Jason Maxiell and Prince for Thornton/Garcia
NBA Champions of 2006-2007: Sacramento Kings
Kevin Martin - April 29th, 2006
His first game winner. Sophomore. Vs the Spurs.
As Shaq says it best, " One great shot deserves another."
Not sure that Prince can handle taller PFs in the league.....before any trade we have to become Smartless...
Thornton for Prince is a no brainer. I would even help MT pack. Balances are team nicely and adds veteran championship leadership. We have plenty of kids, time to get some grown-ups to help them get over the hump.
