    Toughness of Marcus Thornton

Last night Thornton had trouble with his jumpshot, so he started putting himself in a postion to make layups. He is strong and plays around the bucket with quickness to overcome his size. There are some lessons in last night's performance that other players would do well to emulate. I have been a fan of his since he showed up in Sacramento. Thornton, Thomas and Cousins lead the team in competitive drive. I hope it is contagious.

He's definitely really good on the offensive boards around the basket, a ball hawk with a definite scorer's mentality.

Love his cuts when chuck has the ball, he's really the only player who realises how effective that can be.

Marcus is a smart player, sometimes it doesn't seem like it with his shot selection but he is one of the rare talents on this team that gets it and doesn't just chuck the ball, he does other things as well.

I noticed last year that Thornton really started to develop a solid driving game. He's become a legit slasher this year both with the ball, in transition, and off the ball. We've seen flashes of his passing too. He's a very complete basketball player.

Now that his shot isn't falling, he's found other ways to contribute. That's part of the reason he keeps getting minutes despite struggling. He's still giving effort and finding ways to be positive.
