    Fire Smart, hire Brown?

I still think it is way too early to even think about firing Smart, but if we do have problems with Smart as our head coach in the future, do you think Brown is a suitable replacment?

We only hire him if the goal is to see how low this organization can go.

I think with Maloofs budget every staff signing could be seen as a joke

I would say Jerry Sloan would be a good choice. DaAntoni would be another.

I would love Sloan here. I think he would do a pretty good job with our youngsters. If we are serious about making any sort of pitch to get him to coach here, our team needs to start competing in that 8, 9, and 10 spot. I'm not sure he would want to take over if we remain in the bottom of the league. Then there is the question if he even wants to come back and coach at all.

I'm afraid if anybody is getting Sloan it would be the Lakers.

As for Brown, he'll get another shot, but he could be doing the Westphal here, where he has his greatest success in his first stop, and then gets increasingly exposed as his career winds down.

Another thing: as long as Smart can keep the team playing defense, there would be no huge gain in bringing in an all defense no offense coach unless that coach was somebody who had stature and the ability to relate to players. Ala JVG. If the defense falls back apart, I am open to anything again.

I think the Kings would be intriguing to him. You have Jimmer ( that would be the next Jeff Hornasek) You have Aaron Brooks (Deron Williams) and use Thomas Robinson like Malone. Sacramento is closer to his home in Utah than any other place except Denver. I would be excited to see Smart gone if you could get Dantoni or Sloan. Sacramento deserves a winner!

Actually on ESPN 710 Max Kellerman says Phil Jackson is at the Lakers facility walking around. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/losangeles/play

Did you just compare Aaron Brooks to Deron Williams? I know that you're not saying he's as good, but they're completely different. Williams is twice the size of Brooks (lol) and is so much more of a playmaker than Brooks is.

Well I know I can't see anyone else as him that is on the roster right now. Do u think Thomas is more like Williams? .

    P. Jackson, Sloan, F. Saunders, D'Antoni, L. Brown, McMillan, Stan Van Gundy, Jeff Van Gundy, and M. Brown are all the flashy name/notable coaches that are available. In an ideal world, which one(s) would you want?

For me, I would be happy with Jackson, Sloan, Jeff Van Gundy, or McMillan

My opinion is Jerry sloan number one for the Kings. Then Dantoni #2 to teach offense and then hire Nate McMillian as defensive coach.

We're not getting any of those coaches mid season. We had to have made a move this past summer, which is why I campaigned for a coaching change, rather than these ridiculous extensions for Smart. When you're us, you can't fire a coach mid season and get a good replacement. I still wouldn't be shocked to see Smart canned though and us once again promote an assistant, but that isn't a good situation.

IMO, you either had to side with Smart this past summer or want him gone and a replacement hired. I wanted him gone as I'm not confident this season ends up being a success and him being fired in Feb or March, lets say, means we wasted a year and will once again be paying two head coaches at once instead of just hiring one good one. but once the season starts you really can't ask for him to get fired. That doesn't help. That time passed. You either commit to a full season with him in July, or you don't. If he were to get canned though, my nomination would be Petrie. Love to see him show all of us how he sees this roster fitting.

“Sacramento is where I want to be,’’ he said. “I want to bring the organization back, help the organization get started back winning. I love the city of Sacramento. That’s where I want to be. End of story. “We can dig a hole, throw that topic in there, cover it with dirt, pack it down. I want to be in Sacramento. End of story.’’ -DeMarcus Cousins

Our franchise literally is about to rise from the ashes.

my number one is, has been, and is likely to continue to be McMillan. not for defensive purposes however. his offense is better than his defense.
I would sell my soul for a soul worth keeping.

I've heard that argument several times, and yet they were always low scoring defensive minded teams that struggled to score. Not sure what to make of that.
