    Another CP3 idea...

I along with probably a lot of other people were thinking about what would work to get CP3 on the kings.

    The following would work:

    Outgoing
    Kevin
    KT
    Nocioni or Beno
    Plus 1st Round Pick

    Incoming
    CP3
    Peja
    Hilton Armstrong

In this trade we would be eating Peja's contract, but it doesn't provide as much salary relief as NO would probably want. Perhaps if they were concerned over CP3's left ankle, or felt he was going to become disengaged and wanted something for him, it could work.

Wishful thinking on my part, and it would crush us financially, but to get the best point guard on the planet while he's still young....

But there is no way Peja will get traded (at least this year) unless CP3 is also involved somehow.

Swap Noc or Beno for Hawes or Thompson, and that still might not be enough value. CP3 is a 24 year old top 5 player. NO would be crazy to trade him unless he demanded it. If anything, they need to build around him, unfortunately for him, it might end up being KG in Minny part deux.

I agree completely that it's pretty much outside the realm of possibility, but Bricklayer mentioned a trade for Peja, and I can't see anyway Peja could get traded unless it was along side CP3. So figured, for kicks I'd toss out a trade that works financially.

I guess if I wanted to go even further beyond the realm of possibility I could have gone with Kevin+Beno+1st for CP3+Armstrong along with a swap of KT for Okafor.

I do want to mention that if NO wanted our 1st or one of our young players in the KT for Okafor swap, I'd be more hesitant to endorse that deal depending on the details. But if NO is just looking to cut salary I would be surprised if they wanted something unless it was for a future pick.

You can't trade consecutive first round draft picks. Also, probably not enough value.

Im pretty sure we would have to give up Havoc in any Paul deal..

Trust me, I wish we could get Chris Paul .. I wish we had Chris Paul, and I love Chris Paul ... but were not getting Chris Paul.

Bingo, short of us sending Evans we don't stand a chance at getting Paul. Period... Evans/Thomas/1st round pick would be the only thing that we could realistically offer without being laughed at.

Which... as much as I like Evans... would be totally worth it.
The amount of fanboys and groupies on this forum is baffling.

    Go Kings.

    Perhaps.

And see its risky to even qualify support for a get CP3 idea. CP3 is obviously a sueprstar level player, one of less than 10. And he's still young. And he could even work with Kevin and maybe even convince Jaosn to convert an assist.

But, and here's the BUT, what if Evans actually is a future player up in that class himself? Wacky to say. Never in the entire history of the Sacto Kings have we had that happen -- we've only had one superstar, and we traded for him. One near guy, and we traded for him too. Never drafted anything close. But off of early returns what if he is? And then yoiu give him up, and our #1, and a valuable ender. Just saying.

I mean you probably do it anyway, if nothing else you are sure and it rescues Kevin from the scrapheap of spare parts. But there actually is a way at this point where we come out a loser on that one. Swap Evans for Martin in that deal, and we're a guaranteed winner...talentwise at least (because then the question would be how well CP3 and Reke work together -- a question I'd love to have a chance to find out the answer to).

    Wouldn't we all?!

    But it just ain't happening.

One thing is for certain though, if Sam Amick's report that we were considering trading for Okafor, all that suggests to me is that Petrie and the hierarchy believe that Tyreke Evans is a superstar in the making. I get the distinct impression that the those within the Kings franchise firmly believe that they have their man in Reke. I think we all hope that they are right. The signs are encouraging but nothing is for certain.

it is all moot speculation at this point, I just don't see how CP3 / Tyreke would work. To utilize him fully, you need to have Paul have the ball in his hands. Reke has proven so far he needs it as well. Throw in the noted fact that Tyreke has proven that finishing in traffic has not been his strongest suit (altough he has fixed that massively since the start of the season, so maybe opening jitters?) and the fact that he does not have a reliable jumpshot... and you get issues. Remember, Paul was most effective when Morris Peterson and Pedja were flanking him on the wings and draining 3s, and Tyson was healthy and dunking donuts all over everybody. They overpaid for Posey because they believed bench scoring and more shooters will push them over the top. I'd trade Evans, not because I don't like him, but because you have the best PG in the leauge available, who is young and not even close to his prime, and this team has the shooters to spread the floor for him.

CP3 is not going anwhere i don't care how unhappy he is.

You know.. with Collison filling in quite nicely in Paul's absence (22pts/11assists tonight against a very good Hawks team) combined with their financial/organizational problems.. it may not be all that crazy to think New Orleans would be open to trading Paul.

they still wouldnt do it... plus bibby sprained his ankle in the first quarter... unless we are sending evans and our pick this year we dont have what the hornets would want in order to make a trade for paul possible.

Bibby isn't exactly a lock down defender...so i don't see why you pointed that out.

I was not referring to the trade OP listed/or any prospective trade at all, I was just commenting on the possibility of Paul being traded in general.

But yes. They would want Evans/Thomas/1st rounder. Not a poo poo platter of spare parts.
