The Celtics won't trade Perkins for Nocioni.
Here are some that were discussed on a Celtics fans blog:
The gist is that it would be, in their minds, Scalabrine+Allen+Giddens or Walker
I'm sure Perkins is a no-go.

Well there all on the last year of their contracts. Giddens being a team option and Walker being not guaranteed after this coming season. Walker is a young athletic SF, who I think played over in europe last year. Not sure about that so I would have to check.
I went and took look and he was drafted by Wash in the second round in 2008. He played sparingly with Boston last year, so he must have come over in a trade of some kind.

If we take back a bunch of expiring contracts from Boston for Nocioni, I'd be much happier about the Chicago trade. I don't personally like any of the actual pieces Boston has is worth keeping for more than a year.
Opinions. Opinions are like...
Boston has tons of young athletic talent that they struggle to find minutes for because they're a contending team, and I would definitely be glad if Noc was traded for some package variation involving Tony Allen and/or Bill Walker. That being said, I'm sort of skeptical if Ainge would pull this off--for one, they're really getting older after adding Sheed this year, and trading young talent for a guy who's no spring chicken would mean that they're putting all their eggs in one basket. But on the other hand he seems to be aggressively trying to trim his roster by shopping Tony Allen in particular. Perkins won't be traded--he's their only player with a combination of size and strength. I would trade Noc for Tony Allen, Brian Scalabrine, and insist that Bill Walker be in the deal as well--it gives us an insurgence of athleticism and perimeter defensive potential, and the contracts are pretty cheap as well. Ainge does this deal for a James Posey-like backup and to clear roster space, and to go all in.

I had to go back and read my notes on walker and Giddens. Similar type players in that their both very athletic dunkers and both are pretty good defensive players. Of those two I like Walker the most. He's built like a tank with an NBA body. He's a little short to play SF in the NBA but I believe he can play the shooting guard. He could be the long range replacement of Martin if we were to ever trade him or he becomes too injury prone. Probably not going to happen anyway.

I like Bill Walker a lot--think the guy's got a lot of potential, and he impressed me enough in small doses last season that I would almost consider him the centerpiece of this deal for us. Athletic marvel, strong, extremely aggressive both ways--slashing to the basket/chasing offensive rebounds, and also on defense. His head might not be on straight and he does have a history of injury problems, but on a cheap contract with his potential you don't even think twice. But the problem is that I'm pretty sure Boston realizes what it's got, and I don't think they'd trade him unless they really coveted a player...whether that's Noc, I'm not sure.

I think from the kings perspective this is basically a salary dump.
wow @ how underrated Perkins is. The guy is a big pshyical guy who rebounds, block shots, defends, and always plays hard.
Sure he's not a dominant scoring C, but hes a really really really good role player.
1. John Wall
2. Evan Turner
3. DeMarcus Cousins
4. Wesley Johnson
5. Derrick Favors
6. Ed Davis
7. Greg Monroe
We can't get Perkins anyhow--he has a good contract relative to his talent level, and that would seriously deplete Boston's size/interior game; we're not trading away our any members of our young frontcourt, so it's a no go. Besides, I'd think Perkins would be quite untouchable--his style of game is perhaps more in demand than Nocioni's. Not to mention Perkins is 6 years younger.
Again, I'll be satisfied with a Bill Walker/Tony Allen type deal, mainly for Walker, but I also like how Tony Allen applies his athleticism on both ends of the court.

I actually think Perkins is overrated. He was average to below average until Boston went and got Garnett. It is amazing how all his stats have improved the last 2 seasons. But even the past 2 seasons, he has been an average player. He would be a very good back up center IMO. He is just lucky in Boston to have players around him that can hide the holes in his game.
Why can't we all just get along?
I think this is a rumor that was pretty much shot down within about two posts.
