I would say no. I think Kwame Brown is horrendous and a huge disappointment to the league at large, not to mention the Wizards.

Depends on what it would take to get him. Which is probably still too much as a former #1 overall.

Hmm, probally wouldnt be too hard to get a guy like that. If we signed a backup PG, than traded Christie and Songalia for Brown and Dixon?

Financial constraints kept me from renewing my league pass this year, so I haven't watched him much this year, has he vastly improved or something? Because before he had hands of stone and the basketball IQ of a gnat.

You know Brown had a 30 point 19 rebound night against us? LOL.

Don't know if you'd need another backup PG if you got Dixon in that deal. He can play both spots fairly effectively, I believe.

The thing about Kwame is that he's athletic and can play both PF and C. He went for 30 points and 19 rebounds against Kings last March, so he's not exactly a lost cause.

I know he has issues, but that may have something to do with his surroundings and injuries, too. If the price was right and you were a potential contender looking for something to put you over the top, Kwame might not be a bad way to go.

Not sure if that was last season, but this year when I was at the game Dec 21 he had 1 whole point... impressive! At least he's improving each year right?

Kwame's been, to say the least, mediocre this year. Then again, if he was playing great, we wouldn't be having a discussion about his availability.

It's a risk vs. reward question, and I'd submit that the reward is potentially high. The question is, what's the risk? In other words, what would it take to get him? I'm not real keen on giving up a starter, Christie or anyone else. But if there was a package of backups that might work ...

Washington trades: PF Kwame Brown(6.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 16.7 minutes) PG Juan Dixon(6.6 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 13.6 minutes) Washington receives: C Greg Ostertag(1.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.2 minutes) PF Darius Songaila(5.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 17.1 minutes) SF Matt Barnes(3.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.9 apg in 12.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: -2.2 ppg, +3.9 rpg, and -0.2 apg.
Sacramento trades: C Greg Ostertag(1.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 10.2 minutes) PF Darius Songaila(5.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.8 apg in 17.1 minutes) SF Matt Barnes(3.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.9 apg in 12.2 minutes) Sacramento receives: PF Kwame Brown(6.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 16.7 minutes) PG Juan Dixon(6.6 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 13.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +2.2 ppg, -3.9 rpg, and +0.2 apg.TRADE ACCEPTED

Washington has been known to make mistakes: you could argue that drafting Kwame was one; so, too, was trading Webber to the Kings for Mitch Richmond. Maybe the Wizards would be making a mistake trading Kwame.

Kwame Brown is a dissapointment. The wizards chose him num. 1 overall from high school and he hasnt been what people think he will be. The Kings shouldnt even be thinking of getting this guy!

Any trade that involves losing Tag is not going to make our team better, IMHO.

I think acquiring Tag was a good move and that he can and will help the Kings. I'm just concerned that Rick is uncomfortable using him as often as not. I'm not indicting either Rick or Tag; it's just a fact. Brown can play both 4 and 5 and is more athletic, and thus might be of more value in the rotation.

id easily prefer brown over darius as a backup0 but once again i think brown would be to expensive... unless we made a trade which i dun think is a good idea... unless it was darius for brown which will never happen...

I don't think it's a matter of RA being uncomfortable. I think it's a matter of not putting him in when the "match-up" isn't right in RA's opinion. Brown is not a proven commodity by any means - in fact, he's a disappointment to a lot of people. Tag is a proven shot-blocker and rebounder, and - as pointed out in another thread -we didn't get him to play in every single game. We got him to play against teams like the Spurs, Dallas, etc.

Kwame Brown would not fulfill the same role as Tag and we'd be in even worse shape than we were before Ostertag came to the team.

But that's just my three cents...
