    A Message from Crown Downtown

My name is Mike Tavares and I am the founder of Crown Downtown.

Our mission is to show our continued support to keep our Sacramento Kings here where they belong along with the construction of a downtown entertainment and sports complex and the benefits it would bring to the city and region of Sacramento.

Mayor Kevin Johnson is doing a phenomenal job in fighting for growth and prosperity for our city and strategizing ways to keep our team in Sacramento. We are here to strengthen the effort and get key influencers involved in the process. This is where you come in as we need your help.

We are looking for people that are behind keeping our Kings in Sacramento and Downtown Sacramento’s growth to donate what they can to continue helping us spread the message in our community. We have done a significant amount on our own and can use your assistance.

We are asking for donations of any kind to go towards printing more Crown Downtown T-shirts, video production/editing services for a series of interviews we have done and will do, hosting awareness building events, etc.You can donate to our cause by visiting our web site at www.crowndowntown.org and click on the Donate tab which is on the right side just below our social media links.

Together can we make a difference. Together we can show our community is the #BestInTheWorld

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Please keep the donations coming in.

    #ThankYouKJ

Yesterday afternoon on January 29th, Crown Downtown was granted an opportunity to meet privately with Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and his staff at Sacramento City Hall.

Crown Downtown wanted to present some gifts to Mayor Johnson for all he has done in our fight to keep our Sacramento Kings, jobs, economic growth and so much more that is #BiggerThanBasketball.

We also thanked Mayor Johnson for being our voice and we will continue to show our support.

    Our mayor is the #BestInTheWorld

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! I have told Mike we should not be using the word "donation." Although we are supporting keeping the Kings and building a downtown arena, we are not a nonprofit organization. This means that any cash or services or products provided to Crown Downtown LLC. are not tax-deductible for anyone providing such cash, services or products.

We are a limited liability corporation with six partners. None of the partners is receiving any compensation and all funds contributed will be used for the purposes that support our mission statement. However, I want to be sure that everyone gets these facts, in the interests of full disclosure (honesty).

Yep, in fact all 6 of us have kicked in some cash of our own to get things rolling and pay for things like filming equipment, etc. The LLC was just to protect ourselves in case of any unexpected legal issues, etc., that may pop up out of our activities (MSE, perhaps?). None of us will be receiving any compensation.

Kennadog and Warhawk. I suppose that if you are collecting money then what you both said had to be said. Me, I just responded because Crown Downtown asked for some help. Would a word like contribution fit?

Your passion for YOUR team and my visit to Sacramento in December has inspired me to chip in a small donation to your cause. Some of us Pacers Season ticket holders made the trip to Sacramento back in December and we were so impressed with the hospitality that we encountered in Sac that we deemed our trip as one of our favorite road destinations. While in all our Pacers garb, we encountered welcoming folks from the time we pulled into the parking lot at STA (parking attendants) to the time we left the venue. We all had a great time with the fans that rooted against us during the game, but were sure to tell us what to do in Sacramento after the game and made us feel welcome when we told them we made the trip from Indianapolis.

Our crazy STH's and a couple @PacersArea55 members getting together after the game at STA

My wife and I after the Pacers win at STA!

As I told VF21 over on Pacers Digest... I can't wait for WHEN (not "if") we make our next visit to Sacramento and that brand new arena... Keep the faith Sacramento! There are folks in our corner of the world rooting for you!

    VF21 approves this message!

I think it would be incredibly cool to meet a great bunch of Pacer fans to help celebrate our new arena!!
