The difference is Jimmer doesn't have an ounce of the athleticism that Rose or Irving have so it was fairly easy to predict he wouldn't have the same success in the NAB as he did in college. Trob's measurables were virtually identical to BG's at the combine.

Trob needs 25+ minutes a game. BG, Davis, Amare, Duncan, and every successful rookie/big who has star capability werethrown to the wolves from day 1 and given a fairly significant role on the team. Even Wes Johnson got 2 full years as a starter and 25+ minutes a game to showcase his talent. He busted obviously, but at least Minny found out what they really had with him.

I'm just sick and tired of how much this team screws up the development of our young players. Even Jimmer, who everyone left for dead last season, has been amongst the most effective shooters/scorers in the NBA this season and he only gets 13 MPG. Mark Price reincarnated might be sitting on our bench right now and we're not letting him play because of Aaron Brooks. You can give up on Trob if you want, but I'll wait and see Trob given a real opportunity to play before I throw him out to pasture. He has far too much potential and he showed way too much talent at Kansas to give up on him way too soon.

Thing is, Jimmer struggled tremendously last season, but you did see flashes of court vision and certainly flashes of his shooting ability. TRob, who's best skill is really rebounding ... in 20 minutes in this game grabbed 3 rebounds. In the previous game he grabbed 5 in the same number of minutes, mostly in garbage time though. And if not rebounding I don't know what else you could have possibly seen from him so far this season, other than turning the ball over and taking terrible shots.

I'm not writing TRob off as a bust, but I do think it was incredibly silly to draft him when we just spent the previous offseason signing Hayes and then also signing JT. I also think that in his limited minutes he hasn't shown me anything that would make me bench Hayes in favor of playing him either (if I was trying to win games). The guy isn't even considered in the race for rookie of the year thus far, and probably won't be this whole season. Not very becoming of a guy who many thought would be picked #2, and who himself thought should have been picked #1. Meyers Leonard isn't getting any plays run for him and he's contributing a whole lot more than TRob is by doing the very things we expect TRob to do.

It's hard for anyone to show flashes of anything in the "offense" we run. We only run one play, so unless you've got a midrange jumper from the foul line or can go one on one you're going to look like a fool out there, and a lot of people have this season.

agree on T-Rob's defense and rebounding though, for a guy who has "high motor" "energy" "hustle" as his calling cards he sure seems to be sleepwalking out there on that side of the ball. Alot of rebounds just seem to bounce off him, timing issue maybe.

My main concern is his poor rebounding in the NBA. Rebounding is the one thing that is said to translate easily, but our dear Mr Robinson is apparently finding it much more difficult to rebound the ball.

You would think on the offensive side of the ball we'd run the P&R with T-rob, Jimmer/IT. We really do have a ready made P&R team with Reke/Cuz in the first unit and the aforementioned players coming off the bench.

You look at the success the Rockets are having running a fairly simple P&R offense with Harden/Lin and Asik it does make you wonder.

In any case Robinson has only played 30 minutes once this season and 20+ 9 times. When you're a young guy out there coming in with the hype and you're minute starved clearly he's in that rush rush mindset, trying to make plays he can't. Thats why we see the 2 dribble 20 foot air balls and over-dribbling. I would still like to see us go to him more at the high post, i can't recall that ever happening tbh. He has the quickness to beat the slower 4's off the dribble and hopefully get to the line a bit more. Yeah it's on him, but i don't think we're helping.

as for the rebounding, well you hope becomes more savvy on how to acquire those defensive boards he keeps missing.

There is a rumor/fact that there is a squabble between the Maloofs and Petrie. I know the first thing that comes to people's minds are Tyreke and Cousins but I'll bet that Petrie wants a new coach and wants to clear up the pg problem by trading IT and/or Fredette who are two darlings of the Maloofs. I think it is more clear that the Maloofs are shackling Petrie in order to sell tickets not realizing the winning sells a lot of tickets. That's my guess.

Yep, I agree. But I still find it incredibly hard to believe that the nations top rebounder last season suddenly forgot how to rebound. He needs minutes to adjust to the NBA, plain and simple. If he doesn't improve, then fine, we know what we have with him. But I don't expect to see any improvement, especially on our team, when he's gotten less than 20 minutes a game most of the year

Jimmer's defensive IQ was the best I've ever seen it last night. He was playing the zone really well, and directing others guys to their place when they slipped out. He also had a few help D situations that resulted in turnovers. He still got burned man-on-man a few times by R. Price, but overall had a good game. In all, he found a way to contribute when his shot wasn't falling.

Ronnie price can get to the rim on a lot of guys in the NBA. Especially teams without a shot blocker.
