Sacramento needs a new arena!!! Discuss the latest news, your ideas, or how to take action.
With the current ARCO, there are: 1) Physical repair issues (new roof and possibly other major physcial plant fixes) 2) Safety issues (lower concourse width [concession lines also block concourse], upper "walkway" width, including next to nothing at corners) 3) Flexibility issues (to...
Anyone have links handy to the various articles and columns that have been in the Sacramento Bee over the years about the studies that were done on Arco by structural engineers, architects, etc.? I remember that it was determined some time back that Arco cannot be upgraded due to the foundation of...

By all accounts, the Monarch weren’t making the Maloofs money but the team wasn’t losing much either. In November, the Maloofs abruptly folded the Monarchs claming they needed more time to focus on the Kings. A few weeks later, the Maloofs decided to sell their family beer distributorship – which...
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-marlinsfinancials082410 The swindlers who run the Florida Marlins (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/fla/) got exposed Monday. They are as bad as anyone on Wall Street, scheming, misleading and ultimately sticking taxpayers with a multibillion-dollar tab....
Unfortunately, I have no great faith in State Senate leader Steinberg, even though he's from Sacramento. Probably more delay, more hearings, confusion, politics, more excuses... , http://www.sacbee.com/2010/08/23/2977740/darrell-steinberg-state-needs.html
New article today. Cal Expo officials are still talking. While they haven't come to an agreement yet, I think it's good that they are exhausting all avenues and trying to make progress. If this thing were dead in the water, we would know already and the convergence plan would be old news. ...

While the Maloofs insist their trip to Seattle was merely a fact finding inquiry regarding the plight of the Sonics, its certainly fair to assume some very cursory and preliminary steps were taken to assess whether the city is viable option for the team. There are two reasons why that’s completely...
I have been following this arena talk and it sounds like it is more or less in the hands of the California Legislature... who is voting on this? Whcih representatives do I call and encourage to support this? Should a rally outside of the capital be organized? Never really explored these options...
Look what i found maybe we do get an arena http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/frank_hughes/07/16/kings.seattle.meeting/
http://www.sacramentopress.com/headline/32406/Arena_plan_moving_forward nice chunk of change right there... keep moving forward!
Benchmarks A. Framing the Deal May 31, 2010 – Kamilos must agree to formal binding agreements to proceed on this project with the NBA and MSE. July 15, 2010 – State legislation must be introduced that: (1) permits the land swap and (2) creats a tax increment financing (TIF). July 31,...
http://www.cnbc.com/id/37447169 its interesting that he would say something like that given the current situation. i wonder if its just a misunderstanding or if they actually believe its not really necessary right now...
Does anyone know if it would be possible for the Maloofs to team up with say the "United Auburn Indian Community?" I know that the deadline has passed for proposals, but it looks like they are sitting on almost 50 acres of land over at Thunder Valley Casino. If the two combined forces they...
Larry David pretty much predicted that this would be an issue but here's the article supporting his theories. As always, be warned about ignorance on the forum comments. ...
To some of you the statement above might be obvious. Others will completely reject what I’m trying to explain. But a friend recently made this perfectly clear to me. For the record, I’m not pointing this out to restart the whole – public funds debate. We are passed that and everybody agrees...

My friend told me last night that the new Arena is set in stone to be placed at the Cal Expo site. He doesn't watch basketball and claims to have a reliable source. So take it for what it's worth! Also, Beno has a 1970's camaro that is being modified. lol
This article discusses the pros and cons of the land swap proposal from Cal Expo's perspective. http://www.sacbee.com/2010/02/24/2560062/cal-expo-faces-fairground-decision.html
Though not directly arena related, this funding gets the tracks moved. It clears a major hurdle in the arena development. Getting closer and closer all the time :D! http://www.sacbee.com/topstories/story/2551058.html
